Update: went last night. Waited for 1.5 hours to be served our entrees. People who came in after us finished eating before we received our food. When I received it the mashed potatoes and gravy (though very little gravy) was good. However the steamed broccoli was overcooked and my steak was supposed to be medium well but was actually closer to medium rare. It wad extremely salty. I'm still giving a three star just for those darn onion rings. They are what I think of when someone says Bubba 33. The garlic Knott's were a bit overcooked but still good. We also had Raspberry Chipotle wings which were excellent. If you are going to Bubba's, stick to the appetizers and you will be happy.
Update 12/9/23 Y'all just let me tell you the highlight OF my experience here was the onion rings. I wasn't expecting it. They even looked undercooked but bam! Best onion rings I've ever eaten! Second highlight of the evening was the garlic mayonnaise (don't ask for garlic aioli our wait staff didn't know what that was). Third the garlic knots sere perfectly cooked. Seriously. They were good. I had a shroomin burger or something close to that name. They forgot to put the garlic mayo on my burger, which was why I ordered it. It wad a burger, nothing to write home about. As I write this In still trying to figure out now many stars. I had not one but two six inch long hairs in my food. The first in my garlic knots and cheese. Oof the cheese was lumpy btw, but still flavorful. The second in my garlic mayo. I asked for the mayo for fry dipping purposes. It's how I found the hair. I wasn't kidding when I said it was good I ate it anyway. I know it's gross but it was that tasty. For my trouble of receiving an appetizer and main course with hairs in them I was questioned by someone, not sure who but after be left our server returned with a free appetizer card. Uhm, sure that makes up for it right? Another downfall was we were freezing. Well we're seated in an area that in warm weather opened into a sort of outside dinning area. It was so cold we never took off our coats. We asked the staff to turn off the ceiling fans but they couldn't because, wouldn't you know, all the fans in the building were controlled by one switch. No worries the staff brought in heaters and sat them on a chair near us. It helped. Still didn't take my coat off. Which brings me to the reason we were seated in the artic. If you have someone in your party in a wheelchair you need to call ahead. They have very limited seating which can accommodate them. Most of the seating is booths and they are on about a four inch riser. Went to the bathroom. I was amused to find the lock on my stall was broken but no worries. It appears they have a handy man who put a new locking device on the door. I'm giving them four stars. The onion rings, garlic knots and garlic mayo was really that good. Maybe go for the appetizer. One last thing. The pickle served on the plate with my burger and fries was a high quality...
Read moreDestinee needs to change their attitude. Still currently at the restaurant . My boyfriend and I are in here Atleast once a week. I love the mozzarella sticks. But the past 2 times they have been extremely rude. Within the first 5 minutes of being sat they came over to take our order. My boyfriend had a question about an alcoholic drink and they proceeded to roll their eyes and look at as like we are stupid. That being said we let it go, ordered, and when they asked if I would like my burger medium I asked to have it more done then medium as I’m pregnant. And they stated it’s gonna look like that either way it’s a burger. Okay then why ask me. I let that go. My boyfriend’s alcoholic drink came out and she slammed in on the table. Didn’t look in our direction. Don’t say anything. I politely said thank you as they walked away. And they couldn’t even take the time and turn around and say anything. Our food just came out. She set it down said “good” then walked away. Just personally. Have never had this experience with anyone here and I typically leave a $20 as a tip just bc I know work can be hard. But it’s hard for me to even think about leaving more than $5. Bad taste in my mouth in the first 5 minutes isn’t the way to start. Hope they are just having a bad day. But that doesn’t mean to be rude to me when I ask simple questions and slam our food and drinks down and be blunt. And proceeded to never check up on us while I watched the kind waiter behind us check up on there tables 4 times in the no times we were checked up on. My water was out half way threw the meal and never got a refill.
I’d thought I’d add to my review from last week.. once again I’m here ALL THE TIME pregnancy has made me think about their mozzarella sticks DAILY. This time we were sat in the bar area as we watched the pacers game, I can’t remember the sweet waitress name. But she gets a 20/10 from me and my boyfriend. From making sure my burger was cooked well, to getting me a refill on my drinks without even asking if I needed more, just general curiosity of her job. I truly appreciate it. I will add when I asked the hostess stand not to be sat in Destinee’s area for a third time in a row they looked at each other not shocked at my request. And one girl laughed like it is a typical request. Over all. That has been the only person I’ve ever had an issue with. And I will be coming back. If you decide to stop in. I definitely recommend the crooked fried cheese. Thank you guys for a great...
Read moreIt's hard to believe this used to be a shoe store. I also can't believe that they're rockin out to some 80s music!
We arrived on a Monday, two minutes after they opened. Which or course meant we were seated right away. Our server arrived immediately and took our drink order. When she brought our drinks she explained the menu to us as we've never been here before. The odd thing was instead of asking to start with an appetizer she just walked away. She came back a few minutes later and took our appetizer and main course order.
While she was away I took a look around and found the place to be very clean.
A few moments later our appetizer came out. We chose the fried pickles. They were excellent! They were fried up, perfectly. There were none missing batter, and they weren't overdone to where the pickles were dried out. They come with ranch and "bubba" sauce to dip them in. There is a perfect amount of seasoning which gives them a little kick without being too much.
Our burgers came out a very short time after we finished the pickles. We both ended up getting the Sunshine burger. The burger's are ground up on location when they're ordered...and several burgers are made up of 33% bacon...which this burger is. This particular burger also comes with a fried egg on top, which can either be sunny side up, or hard over. The burger has great flavor and texture. The beef patty is large and the toppings are plentiful and make this burger a great value. The shoestring fries are delicious as well. Good flavor and cooked well.
I didn't look at the end of the meal if they offered dessert, but since I was full I didn't want it even if they did. Our sever when she brought the check also brought us to-go cups even without us asking her. I thought that was very nice.
The service overall was very good. Our server was friendly and checked on us often. Even the people at the door were nice. This place far exceeded my expectations and I am sure I will be back again. Maybe next time I'll try the pizza that our server was...
