Great food, great atmosphere, great fun. Went there on a recommendation for the signature Prince Dean Angel wings, and glad I did. Just happened to go on a Monday night, got there about 6:30. There were plenty of empty tables and I found a high top in the back with a great view of Venus Williams playing tennis on one huge TV and a gymnastics competition on another. I ordered the wings, and the hand battered chicken breast strips with onion rings, oh, and a Blue Moon. By 7:00 PM there wasn't an empty seat in the house, the mic crackled to life, and the live trivia game began. The trivia mistress was engaging, quick witted, funny, and appropriate. Great pick. The chicken strips were light and fluffy, moist and really tasty, and the onion rings were huge, well seasoned, great salt, with parmesan sprinkles. The wings were about 30 seconds over done, but still delicious. They were still moist and the skin was well done, but the sauce... the sauce was something special. Sweet with some salty undertones and just a hint (just a hint) of spice. I'm not a big spice fan, and these were perfect. Great rich flavor and deserving of a wet nap when done. Very cool little pub with a British feel and lots of identity. The staff wears T-shirts that say "you'll never drink alone". Well, I don't know about that, but at Chatham Tap in Indianapolis you'll never want to. I bumped them down a star because of the SLIGHTLY overdone wings. Honestly, I wanted to give them all 5 stars, but that wouldn't really have been fair. Maybe next time, and there WILL be a next time.

When I moved to Indy one thing I did was buy season tickets to the Indy 11 in the fan zone. Trying to make any friends I could I'd always strike up conversations with those I sat by. One game a gentleman sat next to me and eager to make a friend we started chatting about soccer, etc. I asked him 'Have you heard of Chatham Tap on Mass Ave?" He had replied yes and I informed him that if he hadn't already to get down there on weekend mornings for the premiere league games and some Prince Dean's Angel Wings. I sat there and raved a bit about the place and we continued watching the game and chatting. We went out separate ways at half time to grab beer, bathroom, etc. When he returned to the seat where I was he held out an Indy 11 scarf stating that it was for me and that he appreciated the kind words about a business interest he had - Chatham Tap. Essentially from the owners down to the staff this place is a class act and was absolutely my favorite place in Indy for food (wings) and drinks. Can't recommend it enough. Thank you for the scarf that still hangs in my apartment that serves as a reminder of the time I lived in Indy!

Came back for dinner and had a way better experience. Got the wings (Some of the best I've had). And also got the nachos (worth the money bc they load them upppp). Our server seemed like the only one managing the entire bar so props to him! Took a while to get our second drink but we understand that he was hustling. It was so nice of them to give us the 2nd round on the house for taking so long. Love this British sports bar vibe and decor. Keep and eye out for it bc it's easy to pass walking down the sidewalk. Don't get the eggs Benedict. It was so below average, not even worth the calories to eat it. The eggs were fried and not poached, no flavor, and very average it hurts. Wings are so goooooood though. So was the spinach artichoke dip and mushroom fries! Like the outdoor patio with umbrellas in the back and how there are sports playing inside. Friendly service and outside is good for groups. Could be tight inside for a lot of people.

Would have rated higher if I were only rating on the food and not the overall experience.

Great atmosphere...great food...service was majorly lacking. Took way too long to take our order - at lunch time on a work day - because he spent more time conversing with the bartender then he did paying attention to his patrons. He spilled a drink on the table and didn't care or bother to clean up the mess he made. I asked what soup of the day was, he didn't know and said he would have to go downstairs to find out - as if I what I was asking was an imposition - said they always have chili - which I knew. I could go on. When it was time for him to bring the check, it took him 20 mins, if not longer, to get it to us - he kept disappearing and then when he would reappear - he had to keep asking us what we had ordered. Will I go back? Yes, but I hope that I get a server that cares more about the patrons and doing their job right. Service and caring are an important part of any...
