Got turned away with no explanation. It was part of my birthday celebration on Friday night. We attend Tini often, at least we used to when we visited Indy for special occasions. Not sure how I feel now after tonight. Had a few friends and my gf with me. Two of them turned away with no explanation. It was 2 guards. (one named Dante I believe) They checked IDs and stamped all of our hands but refused to let them in after? And obviously we weren’t happy, we were looking forward to a fun night and it was quickly ruined by those guys. No words were even spoken to security outside of checking our IDs. So I’m genuinely confused, and pissed off really. But the white guy just smirked and laughed at them after turning them away and ignoring us as to why. To make matters worse, he started to flash his light at us as we were leaving; literally playing with his flashlight on us walking away from the situation…..again laughing. Taunting us for whatever reason. All we did was approach the doors and show ID, even got stamps! It was extremely aggressive weird energy for no reason and I feel like that guard looks for trouble where...
Read moreOne of my regular social spots. Tini has a great modern atmosphere with properly priced drinks. In fact I would argue the drinks are some of the cheapest on Mass Ave AND some of the best drinks, period. The bartenders are sometimes hit and miss with their mixology skills but they are fast to respond when you give them the "I'm ready for a drink" look. The sometimes have themed nights, like throwback Thursday, where they play fun music from the past, but regardless of which night the music is good (typically DJ'd by DJ Knayte). The nice thing about this bar is that its not a "gay" bar but is extremely gay friendly, which results in a nicely diverse crowd. One of the marks I use to judge an establishment is the behavior of the owner. Most of the times you are completely unaware the establishment has an owner, however you can regularly see the owner out and about making drinks or even wiping down tables. Definitely one of my favorite gay-friendly bars with a fun, modern atmosphere for...
Read moreI recently had a wonderful night out at Tini, while visiting Indianapolis with friends! The drinks were delicious, the bartenders friendly and the dance floor was a blast. I was having so much fun in fact that I left my clutch behind, containing quite a bit of cash, a bunch of credit cards and a favorite pair of earrings... well you'll never believe what I received in the mail today, fully intact sent first class by the GM of Tini himself! What an amazing person and establishment all around. So heartwarming to know this kind of kindness exists! Thank you Curtis and all of the staff and patrons of Tini. I will...
