El Pollo Tapatio — Restaurant in Indianapolis

El Pollo Tapatio is a decent spot for grilled chicken, but it didn’t quite wow me. The pollo asado was okay—it had a nice smoky flavor and was reasonably tender, but it lacked the bold seasoning or juiciness that would make it stand out. It’s a solid option if you’re craving grilled chicken, but it doesn’t feel particularly memorable.

The sides were fine—standard rice, beans, and tortillas that did the job but didn’t elevate the meal. The salsas added some much-needed flavor, but overall, the experience felt a bit average.

If I can rate this zero stars I would to begin with. My father went to this unethical money hungry place. He went to eat with my little sister and niece and was encountered with this rude old lady who was being extremely stingy over some salsa. First he asked for the most spicy which she, the old lady replied they sold that one. So he said, ok can I just get the regular one and the polite server was giving him one, when this old lady came again out of the blue, saying No! That's too much!... Now i know that this restaurant is not in the best neighborhood, but to be honest this is the closest your going to get to authentic Mexican cuisine, no i'm not talking about that Mexican american food that taste like sugar all the time, i'm talking a bout good really good tacos, tortas and some soups that you are not going to find anywhere(you may want to ask was in them before you order, i don't want to be blamed for this), o did i mentioned that is really affordable, my wife and myself eat there on valentines day for only $22.00 bucks and we where full to where i was having trouble moving...
