Hibachi Express — Restaurant in Indianapolis

We’ve given this place a couple chances now.. won’t try again after this though as it just continues to disappoint every single time. I got the hibachi steak & shrimp, came with rice and cabbage and I added an order of crab rangoons. The rangoons were decent but they didn’t put a whole lot of filling in them so some of them were just half full. The rice was alright just didn’t have a lot of flavor. The cabbage and shrimp was decent, no complaints with them. But the STEAK! EVERY time we’ve tried they do not cook it right.. I ordered medium rare and it was VERY WELL done. Like I could barely even chew it because it was so well done, which ruined the entire meal. It happens every time. There was ONE out of the handful of times we came where they somewhat cooked it okay , at least tolerable.. they definitely need new cooks or to teach whoever is their cook how to cook steak properly to the orders. I honestly wonder how this place is still even open with how awful it’s been every single time we’ve tried.. the sauces were very different than traditional hibachi sauces. The sweet and sour was like an orangey color with red dots and was very runny and definitely had the “sour” taste to it. It was overpowering. The yum yum sauce I was most disappointed in, its definitely not like any other yum yum I’ve tried and not in a good way. The ginger sauce was probably the best out of the 3 sauces but was definitely strong and different.. overall, it wasn’t worth the money. If I were you, I wouldn’t even waste your time or money going to this place because I can almost guarantee you’ll leave very disappointed and completely unsatisfied. I hope they find a way or do what they need to do, to show some pride in their establishment and cooking so they can turn it around before they’re forced to close. They would get so much more service if/when they did and it would be wonderful to be able to come and get...

Namaste everyone!! Now it's rare for me to give all Stars on a place, not because I'm to harsh or anything, it's just very rare a place actually has their stuff together! My order was & it wasn't a bit pricey, but I did get chix, steak,& shrimp 😋 so I knew it was going to be more I also couldn't help but get extra cabbage either 😁, but it was all more than worth it!! The food was cooked perfectly, the portion was amazing I actually had enough for lunch & dinner, and my order came up in a very timely manner. Hands down I will definitely take the time to visit here again hopefully sooner than...

I really wouldn't recommend this spot if you're looking for something that is even remotely reminiscent of hibachi. The rice, meat, and veggies tasted like nothing but pepper unless you drenched it in yum yum sauce. I don't understand why the egg has no flavor and is not cooked in with the rice. It's also frustrating that I paid extra for vegetables and ended up with over half a plate of veggies and a negligible serving of meat compared to the advertisement photos.
