Potential customers and management of this establishment take note:
My experience the the prodigy burger bar was lackluster at best, and insulting at worst. Upon arriving the staff treated me as if my business was worth less to them because I wanted to sit in the dining area and not the bar. My waitstaff was uninterested and acted in ways I've never seen at any other restaurant.
Firstly we were not allowed to order our appetizer and entre at the same time. Supposedly the kitchen couldn't handle such a task. It is concerning that a kitchen cannot recognize its own menu. An appetizer always comes put before the meal unless noted otherwise. This in itself is not a mark against the server. However the fact that the sever left immediately before attempting to explain this until my table asked why we couldn't order certainly is.
The fried pickles were okay, but nothing of note. They need salt, garlic, and paprika. Some form of seasoning. I'm all for letting the pickle take center stage, but it still needs seasoning.
The burger I got tasted and looked frozen. Topped with an array of miscellaneous wet slop and stringy microwaved bacon. I got a single bite into this before I called it a lost cause.
The fries were alright. Crispy fresh, but the seasoning left many things to be desired. Chief among them being flavor.
The hot ham and cheese was more agrilled cheese sandwich that happened to have a little ham in it. Supposedly there was a sauce on in. But the cheese was the only thing notable in this dish.
When attempting to pay the server refused to take my card even though I had it prepped and ready before the check ever came to the table. As taking my card would be an inconvenience to their flow.
Overall
Pros: the food came quickly, the pickles put the flavor of the pickle forward.
Cons: service was lackluster and made us feel like we weren't wanted because we wouldn't buy alcohol, the food was inedible unless you were severely inebriated. And for the $50 I spent. I could have made all of this at home with fresh ingredients just as swiftly and it wold have been cheaper and tasted better.
If you go out to a restaurant you are wanting an experience. The food should be good at least as good as something you can get at home, but hopefully better. As well as the experience of service. This was one experience I can't...
Read moreMy family and I decided to go to Prodigy after my brother was sworn into the military. We rarely get to spend time all together now that we are all adults, so this was a pretty special occasion. When we arrived (party of 6) there were young kids running around, and by the interactions it seemed they were our servers kid. That’s all well and fine. But after the kids left, the server was pretty short with us when it came to drink. They had a non alcoholic drink list and when I ordered one, she told us they don’t have the syrups because they’re trying to phase it out. Take the insert out of the menus then!! Plus, there was no list of non alcoholic drinks on the menu at all. My mother ordered a bottle of beer and didn’t receive it until probably 10 minutes later when the server came over and asked what we needed (we were staring at her). She stayed out of sight after that until we had to flag her down to order appetizers, the pretzels. There were 3 small pretzels, drowned in salt, and the smallest cup of cheese on the side. For $9!? And we also didn’t have plates or any way to share the app so we just had to dig in with our hands. Mind you, the restaurant had a few more customers, but was not busy whatsoever. We then ordered our food after having to flag her down again and watched tables that were sat way after us receive food way before us. When we did get our food, it was lukewarm and soggy. Extremely disappointed.
My whole family there that day has worked in the restaurant industry or still does. We understand when the restaurant is busy or staffing issues. But none of those factors were present.
We decided on prodigy because I had take out from there back in April 2022 and it was soooo good.
Not only did we pay on one bill, we made sure the server was tipped way above 20% because again we are service workers. But this was absolutely unacceptable and sad.
Thanks for making a special dinner an absolute slap...
