I started enjoying this restaurant when I attended Purdue University back in the very early 1990's. I immediately fell in love with their steak burritos and their hot sauce. For the next several years after that I enjoyed La Bamba quite often. Especially the old Broad Ripple location and the store on Michigan road. Unfortunately, pretty much all those locations that I used to enjoy have now closed. I actually thought I had lost La Bamba forever. But recently a friend and I were reminiscing about our love for La Bamba. For whatever reason I did a quick Google search and realized that there was a location still open on Lafayette road!! I was so excited learning this. So I went there as soon as I could and it did not disappoint one bit!!!! I ordered my old favorite steak burrito and it was still as delicious as I remembered. I've since been there a dozen times in the last few months even though the restaurant is over a half an hour away from where I live. I didn't care! I drove 35 minutes one way and brought a cooler to but my hot burritos in so my wife and I could enjoy them at home. The staff is very friendly and get your order out fast. Now the building is old and a little run down, but at least it's clean. That's why the three stars on atmosphere. So if you used to love this place and thought it was gone forever like me, well you're in luck!!! Go enjoy a burrito as big as...

Called from home and asked if they had egg they could put in my steak burrito.

After I asked the man on phone if they have eggs he could put in my steak burrito he rudley and impatiently yells at me saying - “WHAT?!

I repeat myself asking if they have egg they could put in my steak burrito.

He gives me a half a**ed answer of yes and I think he only said that so he could hang up the phone.

So I repeat back to him one last time - “So you do have egg you could put in my burrito? He then gives me a very clear answer of - “YES”

I drive 20 minutes to the location and In the drive through I tell him I just called earlier asking if they could put egg in my steak burrito.

...He acts like he has no clue what I am talking about and just repeatedly keeps saying “we have no egg” “we have no egg” like I was crazy for asking in the first place.

Every moment of communication I had with this man was very unpleasant and he just seemed completely bothered by me like I was a sort of nuissance to him.

After angrily driving away I was still hungry and was fortunate enough to find a taco truck nearby with delicious tacos and actually...

This is easily the worst food and the worst customer service I have ever had. I ordered one 2 taco 1 quesadilla combo, a burrito and chips and cheese. All of the tacos had different meat and were covered in bagged shredded lettuce. There was no quesadilla and no chips and cheese. The burrito wasn't even edible. I called back to ask for a refund and was instructed to come back to the store. I could not because I live 20 minutes away and I was on my lunchbreak. I was then told to call back today. I called this morning and the person insisted I bring the food back even though I tried to tell him that it was purchased yesterday and had been thrown away. He was extremely rude and kept interrupting me. I could not seem to get my point across that the food had been thrown away/ was missing. I have no idea how this place is still open. Horrible food. Even worse...

This place nails it. It’s everything you want Taco Bell to be, but better. The burritos are massive—seriously, bigger than your head. My steak burrito had a bit too much lettuce, but overall the flavor was excellent. The staff was extremely helpful, and the hot sauces (green and brown) were both delicious. They even serve authentic bottled Mexican Coca-Cola, and prices are very reasonable for the size and quality of the food. It feels like a local family-run fast food spot, even though it’s actually a small multi-location chain. Service was fast, the food was tasty, and it’s absolutely worth driving a few minutes off the highway to stop here. Highly recommend.

one of the few remaining franchises of La Bamba. great fast food in the Mexican tradition. vegan friendly options are what been keeping me loyal to the name for the better part of two decades. veggie super burrito with no cheese, filled with rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, salsa, and an entire avocado!! no trip would be complete without a big cup of pickled carrots. for best results, consume the entire thing atop the overlook at Crown Point. sad demise that most of the locations have gone the wayside, but glad a few of them remain and are gems to be cherished. PRO TIP: support this place while you still can!
