This was a cute lil place. Surprised I hadn’t been here before with as much. To start, our waiter was not the best lol. I feel like he was just throwing stuff down on the table with no regards to how hard or where he was putting it. Regardless, you’re not here to hear me speak about him.

The atmosphere here was soooo pleasant. The music was bop after bop after bop. If you want to be taken down memory lane, I would recommend! It is a smaller establishment, so keep is right inside, but the food is very affordable!

Photo 1: The sangria It was really delicious. I wish they would’ve had a white sangria, but no complaints from me!

Photo 2: Corona margarita (MargaRona) The flavor was mango and it was delicious! Not too sugary, and you could definitely taste the alcohol! This was my first one and I’d do it over and over again

Photo 3: Enchiladas supremas One chicken, beef, steak and bean enchilada. Can’t really mess that up.

Photo 4: Steak tacos These were right at the middle of the road for me. The steak meat was different from what I’ve had at other Mexican restaurants. It was almost pulled pork style steak and not just little chopped pieces, if you know what I mean. They were slightly dry also.

Photo 5: Shrimp tacos These were decent. Honestly, I can’t say if they were better than the steak tacos.

Photo 6: Tamales They only had pork, which is kinda sad. I was hoping for a veggie or bean, but these were delicious! The sauce on...

this was actually the worst experience i’ve ever had at a restaurant. the chips, salsa, and queso were good from the 3 bites i have of it before i left. as soon as we were seated we were asked what drinks we wanted. i said “we’ll just start with water for now” and the waiter returned with waters and asked us to order food. i told him that first we would like to 3 margaritas. he rambled something in spanish to me in a very rude tone and at this point we were all very confused because i very nicely asked for a margarita. we also asked for queso. please note that you are given a very small basket of chips to begin with and you have to pay for refills- there were 3 of us so we knew the small basket would not be sufficient. as he came up with our margaritas, my friend, very nicely, asked if we could have more chips to go with our queso. he gave my friend a dirty look and said “seriously? you still have chips. you just asked for a margarita, i brought it, haven’t put it down yet and you’re already asking for more chips”. his tone and demeanor made us extremely uncomfortable and after bringing it to his attention as well as another waiter’s they were not apologetic and did not care. if we had been rude and demanding, i would’ve understood. but we were very polite. would not recommend eating here unless you like to be yelled at for asking...

We were not greeted by anyone for about 5 minutes after walking in despite several employees looking at us and walking past us. The place was packed and there was very little room to stand and wait. As more people entered the restaurant to wait, everyone got crammed tighter together elbow to elbow and it was very uncomfortable.

We were seated right next to the front door and every time someone came in or out we were blasted with cold air from outside. Our table was surrounded by other patrons waiting to be seated who had no qualms invading our seating area.

The food we ordered mostly tasted like vinegar. We had steak fajitas, carne asada tacos, chicken soft tacos and a chicken nuggets kids meal for the little ones.

Our server was very rude when I politely inquired about the strange taste of the salsa verde. I've eaten carne asada tacos since I was living in Southern California as a child and always with salsa verde. This was the first time I've had salsa verde that wasn't even a tiny bit spicy. The salsa verde at La Piedad is bland and forgetable.

The prices were low, but the quality of what we had was low as well. If you want excellent Mexican food, go to Chris's Ice Cream in Nora off of 86th and the Monon Trail.

We will not...

I tried out this establishment on a Tuesday evening at around 7:30. There was a line along the sidewalk waiting to get in, but it moved fairly quickly and we were seated in about 10 minutes of waiting in line. The staff was also friendly. However, the food took a long time to arrive - it wasn't until after 3 baskets of chips & salsa (about 50 min later) that our order was finally served. The food itself wasn't bad, but didn't really stand apart from most other Mexican restaurants that I've tried. While the food itself was standard, their excellent location at the heart of Broad Ripple and their outdoor patio seating provides a good atmosphere to just hang out for dinner.

This Mexican restaurant is probably one of the best in the city. I visit with my mentor every month and we always crash this place for good food and good talking. Their food is quick, their service is excellent, and the overall atmosphere is just a pleasant experience. I’m thankful for places like this that have a true servant heart at the center of all they do they deserve all of our business as they continue to expand and grow. Highly recommend them for any sort of Mexican food to fill up your tummy!
