This is by far our favorite restaurant to celebrate our special occasions. Our server this evening was Lindsey and she was so sweet. I let her know that I couldn’t have some ingredients because I am pregnant and she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She explained multiple different dishes/appetizers and the ingredients in them and that was beyond helpful. I also really wanted cherry coke and she was able to make one for me even though they didn’t carry cherry coke specifically. I normally get the açaí blueberry martini and it is always my favorite. My husband got a Guinness and she offered a glass to go with it as well. We ordered the saganaki flaming cheese and it was wonderful! We’ve been coming here for at least 5 years now and this was our first time getting that and it most definitely won’t be the last! I ordered a greek salad with no feta and they always have the perfect amount of dressing on the salad. It also came out before my meal which was very pleasant. My husband ordered the lamb shank and the meat was falling off the bone, it was that good! I got the shawarma chicken platter and again Lindsey was wonderful and explained both the side sauces it comes with, so I knew which I could have with my meal. She was attentive but not hovering which was nice since we were spending our 8yr anniversary together. I definitely needed a box for my leftovers because the portions are wonderful! We also ordered the baklava togo and it came out very quick. Lindsey made such a personal connection with us and we most definitely will be back and make sure to ask for her because she was the sweetest! 4/27/2024 It has been a minute since we've been in this restaurant. And of course, it was just as good as it always is. The food, the atmosphere the service was all great. At this time, I wanna tell about our server. The server her name was Rema , I am not sure if I spelled her name properly, She was absolutely magnificent professional kind smiles. Thank you everything, and it was very genuine. The theme with this young lady that impressed me was not just the extraordinary service, but who she was. I'm just gonna say wonderful woman , someone whose culture is in a major state of crisis and to hear Her speak about it. how her family was born and raised there. Even though she wasn't, how heartbreaking it is due to what's happening. This discussion started due to a wonderful tattoo on her arm that I ask about ,she explained what it was. It hit me know the tragedy of what's happening and it just kept on my mind through the whole meal. There’s no better merit or testament in such a fickle and demanding industry than just consistently delivering on flavor, service, atmosphere, etc and that’s exactly what the team here has done for nearly 2 decades. The friendliness and hustle of the staff, the speed and execution of the kitchen, and ambiance of a sunset on the canal hasn’t wavered in the slightest. The baba ganoush is and forever will be one of my favorites along with the spicy tahini, two of the simpler dishes are my favorites so that’s a testament in and of itself to the attention to detail throughout the menu. The falafel is perfectly crunchy yet soft and airy on the inside, the spanakopita is perfectly crisp yet flaky and the savoriness and char from the grill of the kebabs/kofta/shawarma are exactly as they should be. Pair it all with a refreshing tabouli or give into your real desire and get the garlic feta fries. As you can tell, I overeat every time I’m here yet I will never skip on the homemade baklava.
