The track policies of this entity are age discriminatory and not in tune with the needs of real families and parents in the trenches. Visitors: be aware that children and babies under 9 cannot use the walking track in any capacity. Also, no strollers permitted on the track. I’m not sure what their policy is for other devices that aid in mobility like walkers, rollators, canes, crutches, and wheelchairs. I really hope those are permitted but maybe they aren’t either? The YMCA is a good alternative or outside (but the day I went was very wet and rainy and cold). I was looking forward to a good cardio workout several weeks ago with my infant and my friend who has two younger boys. Sad that this place is isolating such a large segment of the population that would really benefit from such a gorgeous facility. I was grateful for the explanation from staff about why this policy is this way (several seniors have been injured and hospitalized by children on the track they said), but I disagree strongly with it. Read moreHow about an exquisite walking space with clean, airy interiors when it’s raining non stop? The newly opened Broad Ripple Park Family Center was an answer to my bad weather, no food, good movement type of meeting with my colleague. Info: you do not have to pay for walking in the BRP Family Center - only register and add your emergency contact. I spent about an hour walking on the 2nd floor and a lot of guests came in to use the Pickle ball court while we walked. The space also houses a basketball court, rooms for yoga and birthdays and a lovely kids area. The restrooms and the entire area are spotlessly clean and so airy. One of the rooms gives you a beautiful view of White river which created this completely meditative vibe. The family center is sponsored by Community Health Network and I love the promotion of well-being and health. Definitely check the space out...
