My visit was interesting. First, it was nice to have two doors to enter. I asked two of the servers behind the counter about specifics on the ingredients of some of the foods. My questions seemed to not be welcomed. I asked if the dressing contained meat and one person didn't know and was not showing interest in finding out. So I asked her if she could find out. She asked the staff if it had chicken instead of any meat. I was sad about that. I passed on it because I didn't get a whole answer. Wait service started the same. Towards the end, she brightened up as well. I try to show kindness even if the staff may have had a bad day or dealing with some things from home or other areas of their life but sometimes you can't win them all. I pray they have a better day and year. Bless you ladies.
It would be nice if MCL had other vegan options. Honestly, the food has always been good. But we are entering an era where the way we eat and dietary needs have been curving toward food with no land food and no bottom-eating fish, and no dairy. Maybe have broiled fish with no butter, olive oil only.? Pecan pie was a little dried out. (I know this has eggs, and I will pay for it later..ugh...) This may not be the place I may continue to go back to, but as the world changes, the way we do business and eat has changed as well.
There was also an older man there giving kids money while their parents were there. The parents gave the gentleman all of their names and what they like and don't like and more information. The older guy came over and sat in the booth behind the little girls. There's nothing wrong with being friendly, but again this day and age we are to be very careful about our children talking to strangers and taking money from them. That could teach the children it's okay to do that when they are not around and then the next thing you know the child is taken conspicuously. Be careful families. I'm sure the guy and family meant no harm, it's just a learning lesson. Trust me I've been there. Anyway. It was kind of quiet in there, but one of the waiters was talking extremely loud from the other side of the dining area about football. God bless his heart. Anyway. I was hungry and ate all of my food. Oh, on my way out the waitress brought me a cup of water to go very expeditiously! Thanks, MCL for the opportunity to share my visit.
Hope to see new things on the menu for this up-and-coming generation of folks!!

Read moreThe first time we ever visited this restaurant we found it very friendly and different, It's a smorgasbord, you tell them the entree you would like they fix your plate right in front of you, you have a variety of entrees, and sides to choose from. Desserts and salads cost a little bit more but it's worth the cost. There were four of us and we paid just over $80. The Strawberry Shortcake is phenomenal. Now where I feel things can be improved on. I'm accustomed to getting three pieces of chicken on an entree, they serve two of the dark meat, the thigh was a little small, and the leg was a pretty nice size. They do have servers to help you carry your entrees to your table, and servers in different areas, our server did not check on us as much as I noticed other servers checking on their guests that would be my only setback, we still left a tip wasn't the traditional tip that I would have left. I believe this would be a great restaurant for individuals and Families. I found the atmosphere of guests like a family with people interacting with each other laughing and having a great time with a great meal. I truly believe you will not be disappointed when I returned to Indianapolis I'm looking forward to my next...
Read moreMCL continues to be one of our favorites. Me and the wife try to eat here at least once a month. The food is always very good And the service is excellent as well. Clean, tidy and good service what more can you ask for. Have had many meals here but last time I had smoked sausage and sauerkraut, the wife had liver and onions. We haven’t been here in months, I was so happy to return. Today I decided on fish, corn and Lima beans with stir fried rice. Quite good despite the fact the fish could have been hotter. And of corse the boss (wife) had her personal favorite the Thursday Special “liver and onions” with your choice of two sides. She chose green beans and corn with Lima beans. Cafeteria style dining with plenty of seats to choose from and a few booths. Please put this place on your list, not extremely expensive and always good food with great service. Senior discount at 2pm. 👍👍 all you can eat fish on Fridays...
