Mikie's Pub — Restaurant in Indianapolis

This was a favorite place and I gave them a great review a while back but after last nites experience I can say I will never go back our waitress April was so rude messed our order up then still wanted to not only charge but also overcharged on bill for items that weren't even brought out until we were ready to leave then told it was our fault if we didn't want to eat it then she also claimed manager was too busy to speak to me and so I found someone else that said she could be the manager if I wanted her to be and said what do you want very rudely as well! The only person who was so nice and had any skill to work there was a guy named Jeremy, I appreciated his effort and owner should put him in charge! They made a small adjustment to the bill when all was done however still wasted 2 hrs.and over 50 bucks on an incredibly horrible nite out ! Worked as a bartender waitress/for 30 years and she would have received a great tip had she treated us with any ounce of respect or at least not been so cocky about us simply wanting at least warm food. Or our salad ,or hey maybe the shrimp that was supposed to be part of the meal ! Even at the end of this dining experience some lady came over to take the lousy potato away said if we weren't paying for it we weren't getting it lol ! We did pay for it but don't worry we didn't need your potato not did I ask to take it with me !! so I'm sure she boxed it up with the shrimp she snatched too ! The only thing I can say was that at least when she splashed our shots on the table from being sloppy she somewhat smeared the spots off the table ! My daughter used to work there years ago and she said she believes there's new owners now so if that's the case good luck with having that kinda service there ,it was a favorite place to eat not anymore won't reccommed it either ! I don't want nothing from there again not even take out !! Jeremy thank you for being professional and personal and having such kind mannerly way , if there's new owners there he should be your #1 because he has what it takes to work in that business April and the others , you don't !! And I wouldn't be saying that if I didn't know what it takes to make a living doing what you are trying to do,you have no ambition to excel at the job! Let another person earn a living working there,because your attitude towards customers and your cocky smirky grin will lleave you all broke !!!! People make sure to check your bill at the end and take notice to all the overcharges for stuff that's supposed to come with the meal ,and this review wouldn't even been made if it we're about human error ,that's understandable,her rotton disposition is what made me take the time to write it ,because honestly i don't care but the owners might...

I would watch your pockets when you eat at this place. They say they sell tacos for $.25 apiece. Which is a fantastic price. Until you can't eat what you had ordered and you try to take what you ordered home with you being that you are ready paid for them. They refuse to give you a to go box to take them with you. Or just take them off of your bill. Which would be OK also if I didn't want you to remove them from the restaurant. They say this is an owners decision and that they can't do anything about it. And I think that this is an unfair decision by this owner. They do this on a wing night as well so I wouldn't take advantage of anything there at that price unless you watch closely on what you order so that you don't get stuck with a larger bill. And can't take the food with you. I think this is poor business and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else for their specials. There is probably hidden cost in their alcohol prices that they choose not to tell you about I think it's a real scam. Definitely thumbs down...

On the way past on the interstate and we randomly chose that exit and this pub for lunch. We got there right at lunch opening on a Thursday so it was empty but had two or three dozen people as we left, and people still arriving in dribs and drabs. Had it been a small place it would have been full. But it's a large room with a full bar, 20 ish stools, another dozen or so high tops, several booths, two dozen-ish 4 tops, and a bank of dart boards for the Friday night games. The club sandwich with fries, and the chicken parm sandwich with mac n cheese, were both hits! The atmosphere has a true pub feel, not just a bar calling itself a pub. I'd love to see it on a weekend night. And from a bartender's/server's point of view: Amanda was amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. Acknowledged each group as they came in, kept circulating for appropriate attention, and ran the front of house by herself without appearing flustered, and without any customer appearing to be irritated in anyway.
