Papa Bears Chicken — Restaurant in Indianapolis

Not gonna lie, the high amount of reviews on this place gave me a lot of hope for some top-tier wings, but I've had better wings from Pizza Hut than what they attempted to serve me. Paid $45 for 20 wings (bone in) despite the online menu listing a different price as well as the menu inside the building. While thinking to myself that it felt a little foolish, I thought the wings must be worthy of such a ridiculous price; I was wrong. These wings were completely raw-dogged, no sauce despite asking whoever was cooking with one shoe on in the back 3 times if there was sauce was on my order. You ever tried to eat 20 wings dry? It's like eating a raw potato. Not to mention the bare wings were soggy, tasteless, and, well, just frankly garbage in every category a wing could be good. Almost no flavor and you could practically taste the fact their grease hadn't been changed in at least a week. Really, really, let me down on this one. I almost hope this place just ripped me off this once and this isnt how they operate, because that would simply be embarrassing. And while I hate leaving a terrible review, they deserve nothing more than a failing health code grade...

Papa Bears Chicken is a small, fairly new, takeout restaurant with "BIG" flavor!

It's located at 1938 E. 46th Street, Indianapolis, IN.

I stopped in there at about 2:30 this morning, of course I'd already checked out the reviews because I'm a foodie and I'm sensitive about my taste buds!

The menu consists of various flavors of wings, and fish dinners,(served with fries) also onion rings (which cost a little extra) burgers, (beef and turkey) pizza, and loaded nachos (beef and chicken)

I had a small order of regular wings and onion rings which are made to order and only took around 10-15 minutes to make!

5 nice sized whole wings and a good portion of jumbo onion rings, fresh and hot, both seasoned to mouth watering taste!

A man who took my order, whom I believed to be Papa Bear himself, was very friendly and had a big beautiful smile....very welcoming!

The waiting area has a table and a couple of chairs, though plenty of room to wait for your order, immaculately clean inside and out!

Papa Bear had a great idea and ran with I see him maybe expanding in the future and I'll be a frequent customer!

I've been meaning to come here for a minute, driving up 46th I was always thinking you should stop here and check it out. Could never find the right time to do so, but I'm happy to say I finally stopped! I called ahead because I had always heard that it was cash only and I wanted to make sure before I made the trip but they take card as well. The gentleman is very helpful, making suggestions and answering questions. My decision on food was some bone in wings, flavor choice was garlic parm, and they were delicious! I was truly impressed by the flavor it was the perfect amount of sauce and spice combination. I know a lot of people don't like this word, but they were moist, and that's important when it comes to chicken in my opinion no one wants dry chicken. They also came with fries which were delicious as well. Price is very reasonable, worth a stop and I know I'll be back to try more food, and I’ll add this...
