Pizza King | Broad Ripple — Restaurant in Indianapolis

As someone whose favorite pizza place is pizza king this is not a pizza king I would claim. The pizza was poorly made, I asked for mushrooms to be added to half of one of my pizzas as an add on and they dumped what looked like uncooked canned mushrooms over the entire top of the already cooked pizza. Our cheese pizza was decent and edible so a win there. This feels like a more modern version of pizza king which is okay in itself, as it felt like it fit the city of broad ripple more, but it misses the orginal vibes that the northern pizza kings have, the names of the pizzas aren't the same, they are boring and generic instead of royal feasts or pepperoni feasts, there is no phones on the table to "ring the king" to call the kitchen, but I guess a lot of things get missed in modernization? Like why market the marketing strategy to say we have generic pizza and there's nothing special or unquie about us? Overall the staff was very nice and friendly, the pizza was ready quickly, the place looked beautiful decor wise, but the pictures of the food on the website look gross and the food matched the websites pictures as well. I think it's sad to see such an amazing pizza place change recipes and solid design choices when the changes aren't always for the best and lose the spirit. I know this is a new location but I feel pretty let down by the franchise of pizza king. I highly doubt I would return, I would rather drive north to get good pizza than stop by a place nearby that has bleh...

Look, the food is amazing. We’ve ordered here three times and every time the food has been decent so no complaints there. Our only complaint has to be the gentlemen at the front who take the orders and who take the payment. I understand they are younger but there has to be some type of professionalism when you are working for any job. We ordered at 6:04 on Friday night and we were told it would be 25-30 minutes and that was perfectly fine. I show up at 6:40 to get my order. The first young man asked my name, then asked what I ordered. There is a POS system right in front of you, why did I need to tell you my order. Then he goes to the back and tells me it’s gonna be another 30-40 cause you are busy. Then just walks away. I said something about cancelling my order because I don’t want to wait another 30-40 for a pizza I already ordered 30 minutes prior. Turns out my pizzas were entered as For Here instead of Togo and that my food has been ready. Pizza was alright but clearly had been done for 10-15 minutes. My confusion is why did the kid come back and tell me a fake time if my order was...

I've been to two Pizza Kings that were in Indianapolis area. Both of them just weren't as good as you find in the small towns. They lack the toppings that the small town Pizza Kings have. The one in broad ripple tasted a little different like it had a different sauce it just wasn't as good. If you're looking for Pizza King I would wait until you go to a small town to get one. Update: I just went back this afternoon after 3 months. It was worse than it was before. Absolutely the worst pizza I've ever had. This is not hyperbole. I got a double sausage Pizza King pizza. Anyone that knows Pizza King knows that should be slamming. But it wasn't. Flavorless disgusting mushy awful. I spent $21 when I could have spent $3 and got a microwave pizza that would have been better. Don't waste your money Go to Domino's, Little Caesars or hell anywhere else but here. There's no way they're using Pizza King ingredients on these pizzas....
