Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I come here often very often. I would say minimum 20 times a week. I deliver food from all over but personally, I like to stop here and grab lunch and a smoothie before I start in the morning never really had a bad experience today I come through the drive-through and the ordering experience was fine, but upon getting to the window, Kathrin was leaning forward, giggling Doing a lot of extra things upon handing me my items and taking my payment. She was super cynical as I pulled my phone up, she was like oh Apple Pay like it was an issue. I don't know if she talks like this all the time or if she is just super young, but she definitely doesn't need to be in customer service . It's cool, fine and dandy to laugh and have a good time, but she was trying to hand me the completely wrong order and then told me, sir you ordered it in such a rude tone . I took a deep breath, said thank you asked for her name and drove away.. Clearly, she wasn't the one who took the order and clearly she's not a hard worker. She wouldn't last one day at my store.

I'm a local business owner and I can assure you I would never have this young lady on my front counter let alone my drive-through window , super unprofessional !

Food was great as always, no complaints there .

Update went yesterday and the day before trying to have a better experience and would you believe she's still working the drive thru ?!?! Not only that she had the same crappy attitude and sounded like the most entitled little white 18 year old girl I have ever met ! I don't know her age but she acts sooo snooty as if she owns the world and everyone owes her . It's gross and makes me honestly not want to support tropical smoothie at all !I wanna support people who are grateful...

I love the food here and feel like it is consistently perfect for me. However, I will say that sometimes my experience while ordering and interacting with the workers makes me unwilling to keep coming back. There are some amazing workers at this location, but some/most people I have encountered are young and unwelcoming. My boyfriend and I pulled up around 7:09am and the store opens at 7am. I saw some workers pulling in at 7:08, which made me wonder if they were even ready for anyone to come in. The person who took our order over the speaker, and who took my payment, looked and sounded like she was miserable and bothered that I came to get food. Over the speaker she just said “side” super hasty and bothered-like. After waiting at the window awhile, she came up to it, with the most blank face, and just said “that’ll be $23.18”. Mind you we were also waiting at the window for around 6 minutes for anyone to come. I said my thank you’s, was very positive and kind, and got very little interaction from the workers. I know I’m an early customer at 7:10ish but if you are supposed to open at 7am you, as a store, should be prepared for people to be pulling in at 7am. My daughter and I have been looking forward to this location opening for months and they did not disappoint us! I ordered the Bahama Mama Smoothie which was fruity, tropical, lightly sweet from the touch of white chocolate and is easily going to be my new addiction. My daughter got the Island Green Smoothie which she loved, and also the Chicken Caprese Sandwich with Maple Kissed Sweet Potatoes. She said it's the best Caprese Sandwich she's had in a long time. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, the topping proportions were perfect. She also loved the sweet potatoes which were cooked perfectly and not overly sweet. My husband had the Paradise Point Smoothie with added Vitamin C because he's been fighting bronchitis and he loved his as well. Everything was fresh and delicious. The interior was super clean and very pleasantly decorated. They've only been open a couple days and the staff was doing amazing getting out orders quickly and were super friendly.
