Exploring the celebrated culinary landscape of Inglewood, I found myself stepping through the doors of Roscoe's with anticipation, echoing past experiences at their Hollywood and Slauson venues These previous visits had set a high benchmark in my culinary expectations, leaving me eager to see how the Inglewood location would hold up in comparison.
Upon entry, it became apparent that this establishment boasted considerably more space than its counterparts. However, greater size does not inherently equate to an enhanced dining experience. The essence of hospitality, after all, lies in the warmth and grace with which it is extended.
One cannot overlook the significance of first impressions, and unfortunately, my initial interaction did not set an auspicious tone for the meal that was to follow. My server, although not lacking in efficiency, did not exude the enthusiasm or respect that one would anticipate from a reputable dining establishment. The disconnect was palpable, casting a shadow on the overall atmosphere of the venue.
Turning to the culinary aspect, I embarked on my gastronomic journey with their famed waffles and eggs, a decision that did not disappoint. However, my venture into their chicken sausage offering left much to be desired, not due to poor quality but rather personal preference. A culinary experience, after all, is deeply subjective and nuanced.
A critical observation that can not be overlooked pertains to the condition of the utensils – a detail paramount to the dining experience. To my dismay, they appeared inadequately washed, casting a shadow of doubt over the cleanliness standards maintained by the establishment. This oversight, unfortunately, raises concerns regarding the overall hygiene practices, which, for many, including myself, is a non-negotiable aspect of dining out.
In reflecting on this visit, it's evident that there is substantial room for improvement if Roscoe's in Inglewood aims to enhance its profitability and reputation. Creating an environment that encapsulates an inviting ambiance, coupled with staff who radiate enthusiasm and respect towards their clientele, is essential. Attention to the minutiae, such as the cleanliness of utensils, can significantly influence a diner's overall experience and their likelihood to return.
A restaurant's inaugural impression on a guest is pivotal. From the ambiance that envelops you upon entry, to the demeanor of the staff who serve you, and the meticulous presentation and quality of the food – each aspect plays a critical role in crafting an unforgettable dining experience. It is within these details that the essence of true hospitality lies, awaiting to be embraced and enhanced by Roscoe's in Inglewood.
I did not take any photos. They were unnecessary, it not to destroy a business, it's to encourage growth.
Love for your business to succeed!

Read moreI’ve been to most of the Roscoe Chicken and Waffle Locations, but let’s focus on the Inglewood one.
Convenience: This location is just minutes from the Airport. If you’re headed to LAX or just arriving , this is a convenient location to grab a meal. Most of the rental car companies are minutes away making It an easy stop.
Safety: This isn’t the safest area, but as long as you move accordingly , you should be fine. LA runs on a strong set of street politics. Respect the community and the people in It , don’t linger around and don’t draw too much attention to yourself. You’re there to eat so do just that.
Parking: Parking is only on one side of the restaurant. If you’re seated near the front entrance , you will not be able to see your car.
Seating: Roscoes is a walk in restaurant that can typically accommodate your sitting regardless of party size. They offer table seating and booth seating as well.
Food: Roscoe’s is known for their Chicken and Waffles. In my opinion , that’s all they should serve. The waffles are soft , thin and delectable and the chicken is savory as well. I’ve ordered some sides, such as eggs and grits…. I should’ve known better. The hot sauce isn’t super spicy , but has a kick to It.
Cleanliness: Roscoe’s has two bathrooms. There’s also a sink located outside the bathroom if you just want to wash your hands without using the bathroom. As much as I love Roscoe’s , I still put my utensils in a cup of hot water before using them. The kitchen entrance isn’t too far from the seating area.
Service: The service is usually good. The only time you’re really interacting with anyone is when you’re seated , ordering , or asking for the bill.
Checkout: One thing I like about Roscoe’s is that once they bring the bill to your table , you then walk up to the register to pay before you leave. There’s no waiter or waitress constantly walking by to see if you’re ready to pay yet or someone with a machine checking you out on a handheld device.
Overall, this is usually my go to when I land in LA or when I’m headed back home. The food is quite filling. It’s a casual spot that allows you to grab...
Read moreI really wish I could give Roscoe's a higher rating but there were definitely some issues with my experience.
First I have to make this clear .. I did not go to the OG location (to my knowledge) ... My review is strictly in regard to the location in Inglewood on West Manchester Blvd.
Overall the service was excellent from the wait staff ... They were attentive, professional, friendly, and definitely made my experience better as they were NOT bothering me every few minutes to see if I needed anything. I can't state enough how much it annoys me when a server is asking me if everything is ok every 4 minutes.
The atmosphere is loud and boisterous, but hey, this is a family restaurant ... Not a quiet, intimate date night type of place ... My only complaint is that the tables were a bit too close together, but I get it ... Maximize space to get the most out of patrons in. Not a deal breaker and definitely not a detriment.
Now ... For the food ... I am so disappointed by my experience. Having been looking forward to experiencing Roscoe's for several years now ...I ordered the Carol C which is listed as "one succulent chicken breast and one waffle" as you can see ... That isn't what came out on the plate .
Instead I received two chicken thighs that were so over cooked that the meat was like biting into and gnawing on a tough piece of fried leather ... There was little to no flavor to the chicken as if they forgot to season not only the meat but the breading as well. The waffle itself was soggy and not crispy or fluffy at all ... Quite honestly ... This was not the food experience I was hoping for after seeing the chain being showcased on Food Network.
Ok ... Soapbox time is done ... I can't say that I would ever go back as I have had chicken and waffles in other restaurants with an experience that is 100 times better from a food experience perspective.
If I ever try Roscoe's again ... It won't be...
