Mediocrity may be too generous to describe this restaurant. At its height, this restaurant was delicious, efficient, and well-liked by my family. In recent months, it has become a below-average place to eat at. Long wait times for a waitress to take a drink or food order. Bland chips. The salsas at the bar have no layered flavor profile. Constantly bringing out the wrong dishes. Tonight, our waitress brought out the “chicken sandwich,” which was two tortillas, a slice of melted cheese, and a grilled chicken breast in the middle. When I asked if this was the chicken sandwich (as opposed to the Mexican pizza), the waitress doubled down and stated that’s how they made their chicken sandwiches. When the cook came out to correct her, she never apologized for the tone or mistake. We got no drink refills until five minutes before we left. The refried beans had been microwaved too long. The food was brought out at separate times. I waited thirty-two minutes after the first dish had been brought out to receive mine. Everything was oily. I won’t post a negative review without highlighting the positives. In this case, the rice was well-made and the cook was funny. Was my food lukewarm? Of course, but I did get a chuckle when the cook asked us to “pray for him” as he went to deal with another table. One table arrived and left while we were there. It took too long for their waitress to take their food order, so they left their frozen margarita, menus, and Coke at the table. I almost envied them as they left. I hope they got to enjoy their dinner at an efficient restaurant. But me? All I could was wait for six plates … and now I wish I had left with...
Read moreVisiting here feels a lot like a family party you actually want to go to, because once you step in, it would seem every main server and even the restaurant owner himself becomes a family member, a known friend. It feels as though you're the guest of honor and they will not let you leave until you're completely satisfied.
Not that I knew that at first... Mexican food is my go-to indulgence, and on one particular weekend I wanted to indulge, I actually ordered in (on Yelp) for takeout. I had already tried Broncos (the other Mexican restaurant right down the road) and was left underwhelmed with small portions, overly runny salsa, and just overall bland quality of the flavors.
As soon as I came in to Los Cabos, I met Jaime, the owner I believe. He actually told me if I were to dine there again, it would be better to call them directly for a pick up since it would save me something like $10. I remembered that because it's a business owner who genuinely wanted to save me (a potential return customer) money.
Believe you me, I certainly did. Rounds (YES, ROUNDS-PLURAL) of drinks, tacos, enchiladas, all for a reasonable price. It's kind of my new weekend hang out joint now, and if you come in and dine, you'll see why. You won't just be left in awe of Mexican cuisine so incredible that you want to make love to it, you'll be in awe of the experience. Everyone will recognize you, they'll care, it's the definition of southern hospitality (Mexican style). And the food.... Well, it kind of speaks for itself. It's love...
Read moreMy coworker stopped here for lunch on 2-14-23. The guy who seated us was also our waiter. He took our drink orders as soon as he seated us and brought them out quickly. I ordered the fajita burrito that was nothing great and had red sauce on it which wasn’t mentioned in description on menu. While eating, I grabbed my cup and took a drink, the waiter walked over and while taking a drink he rudely tried to grab my cup while drinking still instead of waiting until I sat it back on table. My coworker and I finished eating and went to pay our bill. The waiter also rang us up at the counter. I looked at my bill and was overcharged by nearly $4 on the burrito. I began to explain to the guy that I was overcharged on my meal he rudely cut me off after only getting a few words out then pointed at my face closely numerous times stating I was wrong and continued to cut me off everytime I tried to respond. He kept on stating I didn’t understand that there was a difference in price total if you use card then if you paid cash which they had both printed on receipt, which I had already seen and was not what the issue was that I was trying to explain to him. I finally got him to understand the issue was I had been overcharged on burrito and he looked at receipt then realized I was correct and he fixed my bill. Never apologized for cutting me off and pointed at my face numerous times and continued to be a loud, arrogant, unprofessional jerk. Worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant and extremely...
