Walked in, immediately hit with a recognition odor of old unchanged fryer oil. There's an art to "retro" style decor, and unfortunately, this establishment lacks it. Comes off as more of a mid 50's garage sale special. The staff was at a minimum for a Saturday evening prime dinner time, appeared only 2 employees. Not overly surprising as there was only 1 other diner present. Should have read all the warning signs prior to ordering. The waitress was friendly enough, with no real complaints in that aspect. The food is where it all goes wrong, unfortunately. My first dining experience ever of having fries that were hot, cold, and uncooked all in the same plate. Likely a connection to the over whelming odor. Never had seen shredded pickles on a burger before, seems time would be better spent cleaning a fryer and changing oil rather then executing such an unnecessary task. Chicken tenders were flat (literally flattened) and tastless. Alittle over $50 for a family of 4, a far cry from outrageous in today's economy but criminal in the food quality aspect being sub par to McDonald's where the same order will run you around $30 max. To be fair maybe this business is better known for breakfast foods and soups/sandwiches which we did not order. Also, the 2 employees present were very young in appearance. Certainly college age at most, so maybe we just had an unfortunate timing of dining with inexperienced staff. Not a place we'd risk trying again personally, but hopeful other patrons will have a...
Read moreVery sad to say aunt stephs ain't what it used to be, me and the wife tried it 3 times this year and 3 times were very disappointed, breakfast we got black and green colored eggs on the bottom that had a cleaner smell to them, told them to clean the griddle and make new ones, sausage gravy was not very good at all, The cook is very new to cooking I believe, he tends to burn a lot, had the cowboy burger and overcooked was a understatement the bottom of the patty was black as was the cheese that touched as well, The one waitress is kinda lost sometimes, (We absolutely adore the Irish waitress shes is funny and a very good waitress)
Not like the days when Steph was there and Joel was the cook, The new decor is very nice the 50s theme was a good...
Read moreHad a misunderstanding on a breakfast item that had bacon and I asked if i could just have that on the side instead of in it without being charged for it being a side and the waitress said yes. When it got put on the bill I just asked if it could be taken off with the miss understanding. The owner or whoever it was (an older woman) came up to me talked down to me and was breathing in my face ( which made me feel disgusted) and I just wanted her to get out of my face and felt stuck. By the time she left me alone I just wanted to get out but I feel so gross from being breathed down Food wasn’t bad for the price but I’m just extremely uncomfortable with that whole interaction and...
