Falbo Bros Pizzeria — Restaurant in Iowa City

I work at a local hotel in the Iowa City area, I recommend Falbo Bros to hundreds of people a month. However my opinion has changed because of one event. Due to my place of business recommending this establishment, we sometimes get coupon codes. This time, it was for a free 2 topping medium pizza.

Now a co-worker and I went to order a medium pie, sausage pepperoni, with extra sauce. We were told 45 minutes. No problem, we had time to kill. An hour and a half goes by, no delivery. My co-worker calls, and was told that the order just went out. Should be less than ten minutes. However, it wasn't ten minutes, it was another hour. When we get the pie, it had almost no sauce, the crust was unevenly cooked and even burnt.

So we call back to voice our concern, but when we explained the situation, expecting at least an excuse, the person on the phone said "Well it was free wasn't it?".

I refuse to recommend/patron a business that would treat it's customers in such a way. as I mentioned earlier, as a member of the front desk at a hotel, we enjoy influencing the dinner decisions of our guests toward good food. However, because of this experience, I will never recommend Falbo Bros to another...

Their pizza is pretty good but getting it into your mouth can be hard & expensive. I live 1.7 miles from the nearest location and their website says I am out of their delivery area. I wanted to use their website because it offered a 25% coupon (desirable when one large 4 topping can net them $42). This isn't a top shelf pie that should cost that much. This is crappy gooey college pizza. Anyways I called and tried to order over the phone but they couldn't honor the coupon from their website. They suggested I try order up or eatstreet. These services hike the price up even higher and offer no coupons. Falbos if you are reading this fix your stupid website...

Immensely disappointing. We ordered when we got there and was told it would only be a 15 minute wait. 15 minutes go by and the person working the counter came up to us and said he didn't have the ingredients for our garlic cheese bread and ask if he can breadsticks for us instead. Okay no big deal. We wait another 15 - 20 minutes. Finally, our order was done. We took it and went home. When we got home came to find out the breadsticks were as hard as a rock.
