HNTea Organic Tea House - Irvine — Restaurant in Irvine

The drinks were made quickly and taste exactly as promised in the description, which I appreciate. I also liked that the store detailed which drinks had what specific levels of caffeine. My only concern is that this is a store that uses Snackpass — my sister and I were the only ones in the store, and when we went up to ask about our order, one of the workers told us that because we ordered via pickup, we needed to “come up and get it.” Seeing that my sister and I were the only ones in the store waiting for our drinks, there should be more communication for Snackpass orders made via phone since I also did not receive notification on my app, nor did the store have any screen display for drinks that were completed (an example I’ve seen other stores use for snackpass online pick-up orders). I also think there was an attempt to say my name, but either because my name was not easy to pronounce or out of principle for us needing to “come up and get [our order”, this attempt still unfortunately led to miscommunication. This interaction left me feeling disappointed because my name is Vietnamese and while I am not saying this is the intended purpose, I ultimately as a customer did contemplate if the workers here did not attempt enough to pronounce my ethnic name. I left feeling “othered.” While the drinks tasted good, I will not be returning due to my experience of feeling isolated and inadequate customer...

I always visited the Tustin location. This time I was around the Alton Pkwy location and the experience was horrible. I went there around 2 p.m. I was trying to order my usual mountain rock latte with boba. The staff tries really hard to refuse to take my order. They would not take it! They told me that they wanted to sell mountain rock to customers who will order the straight mountain rock tea without milk. They said they are low in stock for mountain tea. And wanted to sell me on the HN mixture of three tea instead because it uses less of the mountain rock tea leaves but still has the tea I wanted. No matter how hard I tried, they would not do it. I have tried those before. It was good but not what I wanted. I asked then what other tea is as robust and strong as mountains rock because I’m trying to order another same drink to go for my family and they suggested the Golden Black tea which she did not like at all. It was horrible and nothing robust. More like jasmine tea, rather. The bobas are not properly cooked. Very below standard. It was hard like plastic. Rewards-the staff was able to find my reward but said the Tustin and Alton parkway are separated and can not be used interchangeably.

Lesson - if you want something and the staff cannot provide and refuse, should just walk away….

Please bring back the Longjin cheese cap tea!

The Longjin cheese cap tea is delicious and is the low caffeine tea option I need. I was planning come back long term just for this drink.

But I discovered recently that it's no longer on the menu. This would have been a five star review for the Longjin tea alone.

I would highly recommend others to try the Longjin tea if/when it is back for it strikes a perfect balance of tea flavor, bouquet...
