I purchased the Hopia Mung Bean. The cashier mentioned it was made last night at around 6 pm. I have had it before in the past, so I knew whether or not the hopia was fresh or not fresh. The one I ate tasted awful. The filling was darker in color than its normal color and it did not taste fresh, rich or soft. I asked the Managers if I can exchange it for something else. They refused. Both Managers Michelle Valerio and Austin Alega refused to accept any exchange. They would rather argue that their product is fresh, that nothing is wrong with it and would not believe the customer, me. It tasted awful. I didn't want to return the product or trying to get a refund. I just wanted a dessert that was fresh and delicious. The customers in line, who were standing by me, were also aware of the appearance of the hopia. They too noticed it was darker in color and it didn't look fresh. They stood by me. However, Austin Alega insisted their product was good and would not allow any exchange. So, BEWARE! They practice Final Sale. And if you complain if their product is old or bad, they ignore what you say. So, save your breath and time. Don't go there unless you know, they don't care if their product is old or bad, nor did they want to make a loyal customer happy and find some resolution if you bring up any concerns or complaints. They obviously don't care about you the consumer if you voice out your concerns about the bad quality of their product. All they want is your money. There is no sign that says no returns or exchanges, but they will practice that. They lost a good paying loyal customer because of their shocking, bad response and bad business practice. I will never go back...
Read moreValerio's Irvine did not disappoint with my turon order. It's located inside Seafood City and will be on your right as you enter. They have a wide variety of traditional Filipino rice cakes and bread. I was able to order 12 pieces on the day of. It only cost a little above $20. If you'd like to avoid paying an extra 50 cents using card, I suggest to pay in cash (which I did). Be sure to ask for a receipt if you need it. The cashier lady was not really smiling that Saturday, but I treated her with kindness.
At my friend's party, the turon was devoured because they liked it. I ate one and thankfully it was beyond my standards. The turon was perfectly crispy, crunchy, caramelized, sweet and just right with the slice of saba and jackfruit. When I have another potluck event in this area, I'll order turon again from this...
Read moreIf I have an option, I will give them a zero in my review. Don't go there. Awful customer service!!! My husband wanted to buy something and charged to his A.E. card but the Cashier, Ana said the transaction got declined so I tried to charge it to my separate A.E. card and got declined also. We just ordered food from Jollibee and charged to our A.E. card a few minutes ago without any problems. Jollibee is just across the street to Valerio. The cashier is very inconsiderate and assuming it is our fault without checking her machine. We called A.E. instantly and confirmed that it is not our problem at all. The food at the Bakery looks really old and not even fresh. After reading all the reviews, I am glad and lucky that we didn't purchase anything from the...
