Bhetghat Restaurant Bar & Banquet — Restaurant in Irving

Me and my boyfriend had lunch here 2 weeks ago and the food was AMAZING, see... as a hispanic woman that I am I never been open to different options when it came to new things, but we had lunch here and for it being my first time the whole vibe walking in was very heart warming, it felt cozy to the touch, everyone was so happy and very welcoming, our server Simrian (sorry if I misspelled your name wrong) was great! She asked us if it was our first time and she was very helpful when it came to questions that we had, I trusted her word and was very pleased with the quality of the dishes, the food was served in fancy dishes that compliment their culture which I loved, now to the food... The food was AMAZING! I had the buttered Chicken and for anybody who has never tried it, it taste like tomato soup but with a radiant flavor of spices, the portion was just perfect and the rice was hands down amazing, very something different from rice that I grew up on, my boyfriend had the tikki masala and that dish was also popping with radiant flavors to the point me and him were sharing our food, the garlic Nan bread was so soft and very, very, very good, I ate my buttered Chicken with the nan bread and it was delicious! Despite the negative reviews, the good reviews will always out weight the bad and my experiance here as a first timer I can say that I approve and will be going back. May the new owners/managers prosper in this great oppertunity, also thank you Mehesh (sorry for the misspelling) for being so welcoming to me and Gilbert, you are so positive, proffesional and dedicate yourself into makeing others happy, thank you for having us over for lunch, we will make frequent...

It's just ok. I visited around 9pm. All the house lights were on, and it's bright as day inside. The walls are all white so there's no sense of class. It's just very bright. Definitely not a place to go for a nice date. The bartender was polite, but for there not being anyone else at the bar but myself you would think there would be some friendly conversation. There wasn't though. I sat alone at the bar in silence while the news was repeating the same stories over and over. I ordered a Corona with lime. I was served a Corona with a lemon wedge. I asked if they had lime and she said no. The beer was also room temperature. It wasn't even cold. The shelves behind the bar where the bottles go were very bare. Several of the bottles were just bunched together at the bottom. No presentation whatsoever at the bar. I ordered chicken curry. It was just ok and had very little spice. Most Indian and Nepali places that I visit ask you how spicey you want the food. That wasn't an option here. Also, the chicken had a lot of bones. So it looked like lots of chicken when I received it, but half of it was bones. You will definitely end up using your hands because there's not enough meat on the bones to work with utensils. Doing a simple paint job and dimming the lights would help a lot with the atmosphere. I can see why there were no other guests when I came. Again, it wasn't bad. It was just very unimpressive. My curry and two beers were $24. I'm not sure it was worth...

I’m surprised this place has all these great reviews! I ordered food from there: Mixed Biryani, Veg Momo, Sheekh Kebab, Lamb Chops, Cheese naan, and Chilli Fish. Out of all these, the only thing remotely edible and flavorful was the chilli fish.

Here’s what the other foods were like:

Mixed Biryani: overloaded with food coloring and absolutely no taste at all. It had one boiled whole egg. Not sure how much heat they boiled the egg on or how the egg was cooked, but it was like a bouncy ball, especially the yolk inside!

Sheekh Kebab: Dry and extremely salty.

Lamb Chops: the spices/masala that the lamb chops was covered in tasted raw!

Veg Momo: was just normal. I accidentally ordered veg Momo instead of chicken Momo, so no complaints here.

Cheese Naan: I’m still trying to figure out where exactly was the cheese in or the on the naan. If there was any you would need a microscope to look at it.

No issues with the service! They were great, friendly, and accommodating! Initially I ordered chicken lollipop, but since they did not have it, they were willing to replace it with a slightly higher priced menu item. The 3 stars is only for...
