Def needs upgrade! Pretty sure when I filtered through to find a hotel I put 4+ stars….this one is apparently rated 4 stars when you google it…it needs to be dropped to 3 or 3.5 max. This is not what you expect going to 4 stars. First of all, not sure if they were just having a bad day/weekend or if it’s all the time but you walk in and it’s hot and humid. Like the A/c wasn’t working properly or something. But we looked past that bc that seems like something a 4 star wouldn’t let fly so probably a recent issue happened right? Then the front desk… maybe she was having an off day bc I mean it was hot, and it’s muggy also outside, and hot July Texas, but she was not welcoming. And when she told me my room assignment and it was on the first floor (which I don’t do) I asked if there was something not on the first floor and she didn’t even attempt to try to look, just gave a dry “no.” So I’m like alright. Looked past that bc we were only staying one night.
The room smelled!!!!! It was stale, humid, and hot! the walls looked like they ain’t touched up paint in forever, specifically the ceiling. But beds looked good, nice tv. Then we turn on a/c, smell amplifies so we had to spray the vent with one of our fragrance mists to make it bearable. In the bathroom tub there is some sort of paper note taped across the facet outlet…..that says “pull”. I get giving instructions bc clearly this is a different type of tub Shower combo and they probably get calls all the time asking how to operate it...but come on..a taped piece of paper? In the shower?! Really? Couldn’t type out and laminate some instructions and present it nicely somewhere?! At the bar the cosmo my friend ordered was tasty so kudos to the bartender! But I ordered a chicken Caesar salad right… now while we waiting, I’m getting annoyed with the amount of bats and flies I’m swatting at…..my guess is they came in bc of the hot humid area?! Don’t know. But it def gave dive bar vibes. Then I get my salad and take it to my room…….why is this the skimpiest amount of breaded chicken on this salad?! And then the chicken I got just looked hella sad I told my friend that chicken tasted like pre cooked breaded chicken breast you get from a grocery store lol and she got a chicken sandwich with fries. She said her sandwich was good but the fries were not hot or even warm and lacked salt of any capacity. And we waited on that food a good while. So then I notice her sandwich…..we came to the conclusion from observation that the chicken on my salad comes from cut up chicken patties they used for the sandwiches! Hot mess. And not worth the price.
Let’s get into the bathroom again….water…does NOT get hot! The shower water was barely even warm! Let’s just say I’m glad this was not a trip I took with my kiddos bc I would not have been able to bathe my toddler and infant bc the water wouldn’t have been warm enough. And we realized the sink water also didn’t get hot. It was basically shy of not being cold. So annoying!
And the free breakfast….i mean it’s complimentary so I can’t complain too much but man, presentation was not there, eggs looked unappealing, potatoes not seasoned, no bacon or sausage, the silverware was just out in this like grab and go container unwrapped (sanitation issue to me). Now I will say the battered chicken breast they had out was good. But I wouldnt eat breakfast there again. I literally only ate one chicken breast strip and 1 French toast stick and left.
Now some good things so it don’t seem like I’m just the overly bitter & critical type…when you walk it it does look nice at eye level (Other than that weird carpeting in the hall area going towards the rooms). The tv is also Bluetooth compatible so we could play music. And the hand towels were probably the softest I’ve ever felt!
Now let me be clear, if this was a 3-3.5 star hotel….i wouldn’t have an issue, wouldn’t have chose it myself, but it would make sense with what we experienced. My issue is it was rated 4 and it didn’t have the standards or qualities of a...
Read moreFor the most part my stay at this hotel was decent. I checked in Thursday everything in the room was fine until I saw a humongous cockroach running across my wall. I asked the night clerk at the front desk if he could switch me rooms and he said he couldn’t do anything I’d have to wait till morning. Morning came, I went to get breakfast and saw the day time clerk. She told me she would switch me rooms no problem and was very nice. I ended up not switching rooms, and called to verify my booking I made online and pay. Money came off my card and seemed to go pretty routine. I made another booking last night online to stay one more night and was dead asleep in my room this morning when someone comes BANGING on my door at 7am! It was the security guard telling me the front desk sent him to come tell me I had to go down to the front desk because I didn’t pay yesterday or get out. I showed him my payment verification, he said he couldn’t do anything I still had to go down there. I called the front desk trying to talk to whoever sent him… and the girl was VERY RUDE. She was not listening to anything I had to say and speaking over me, not listening to me at all. Just told me to get to the front desk or law enforcement would be called! Then more banging on my door! Security guard again telling me Irving PD was going to come remove me if I didn’t get to the front desk and pay for my room! I threw clothes on, went down there, all for this woman to tell me she was sorry it must have been a computer glitch. 😳🤯 You don’t threaten someone with law enforcement at 7am and turn around and say sorry. I was highly aggravated and felt like they just wanted payment for that day. Check out isn’t even until 11am… I still had 4 hours! I’m a Wyndham rewards member and stay mostly in Wyndham hotels because of the points but this really was something that bothered me and she didn’t even offer to discount another night or anything. Not sure what my plan of action is next but I know better than to book online at this...
Read moreThis hotel which is a dual Wyndham/Ramada far exceeded my expectations. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and appears to be fresh off a remodel. We booked three rooms for the Ramada portion of the hotel, and the rooms were gorgeous, clean, and again appeared to be recently remodeled. |The breakfast room was stunning; and my only complaint is that breakfast items were not brought out in a timely manner. Each morning of our stay, we always had to wait while a small portion of each item was brought out and put in the warming trays. This meant we were standing around waiting for each item. The male breakfast attendant did a great deal of standing around watching, but not making sure breakfast items were replenished in a timely manner.|However, the rate paid was excellent and I would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend this property!!||In the United States, most Ramada hotels are run-down and not at all the luxurious properties found overseas, where evidently the Ramada name has more cachet (where they are sleek high-rises and extremely upscale.) This hotel is like an overseas Ramada--sleek, modern, upscale, and luxurious, yet at an affordable price point.||Stay here, you definitely won't be disappointed, as long as you realize you may need to wait a few minutes for breakfast items to be...
