Cafe Madina — Restaurant in Irving

I'm not going to lie. I walked in and almost walked right back out. The other reviews described this place as a hole-in-the-wall, but I feel even this is effectively an understatement. This place is TINY. It's a little square room with one long table that can fit 6 on the left, and two rectangular tables that can sit 4 on the right. It's tight. When we walked in some other patrons were eating and they said hi and then continued going on in Somali. Every once in awhile theyd shout back that there were customers. We didn't know to go up to the window. None of the tables were clean. I told Mohamed what I wanted and went to sit in the car. I dont care about the aesthetics of the place, The place is a relic from old times, never been updated, website never updated, hours of operation all over the place as other people said they are a family run operation so they open when they like and close when they 😬 people are casual friendly no formality type. Im not one to ever wright negative reviews but I went to go buy sambusas from cafe Medina. Upon arriving I went to the guy in the front and asked for 10 sambusas. After I pay he starts shaming me for not tipping. Then I asked for some hot sause for the sambusas and he calls me “neede” after I get the sauce; which mind you isn’t at all enough for all the food, I asked for a couple more.
