Blue Crab — Restaurant in Irving

I used to be a regular when they were still Lin's Garden, but had stopped going when they switched to being the Blue Crab. I heard that they were still serving some chinese food on the menu so I thought i would see if they were still as good as before.

Of course since they are mainly seafood now, their chinese food selection was pretty limited. I ordered a sweet tea and it was light yellow and tasted like sugar water so i sent that back and just got water. I ordered the orange chicken and my grandmother ordered the garlic shrimp, both with fried rice. We were the only table there during lunch time and it took about 30 minutes after placing the order for our food to come out.

When it came out the entrees both were hot and fresh and had good flavor, but the fried rice was cold on both plates and tasted like they had reheated it. When we told the waitress about the rice being cold she did not seem to care, just had said she was sorry and didnt offer to replace it or anything.

The customer service was never that great, but I was just very disappointed with this visit. I definitely will not return for chinese food and as far as the seafood section is concerned I will not be trying that out because every seafood plate on the...

Establishment is fairly new, just opening not long before the Covid Quarantine. This was a Saturday afternoon. We arrived and were the only customers. We were seated on the side of the dining room adjacent to the highway. After ordering and sitting for about 10 minutes, we noticed that there were several ginormous flies swarming between the windows and the blinds. Then, the flies started to attack😳 Since we had already placed our order, instead of leaving, we asked to be moved to another seating area. The manager complied, and appeared to go into battle with the alien flies once we were settled. My friend ordered the Dungeness crab, and was very happy. I ordered the King crab and was not quite as happy, but they were decent. My 1 &1/2 yr old granddaughter had french fries, can't really go wrong there. I will say that the fly incident likely influenced my response to the food. The establishment reopened for business on May 21st, we visited on May 23rd. To have so many LARGE flies inside, it made me think that the flies were quarantined there🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ *They do get a high five for the complimentary garden salad, and their blue cheese...

The food is good and we have had no problem with delivery in the past. However tonight we place in order at 6:30 it has not arrived by 7:30 so we called and they said it was 10 mins away, around 8:15 we called and asked to cancel the order. They put us on hold and said she was calling the driver. She came back on the phone and said she had just received our online order. Why did she lie the first time we called when she said the drive was 10 mins away but she didn't even have the order yet? Totally annoying.

*UPDATE: Last week 5/1 we visited the location for dine in. As mentioned previously the food is excellent, portions are perfect and the in house service is fast, so we thought we would give Lin's another chance. I am very glad we did because we were reminded of how good the food is. I do hope they have fixed their delivery issues. I have changed my star rating from a 1 to a 4 to truly reflect our overall experience with the restaurant over the year. I recommend it and hope the construction of the roads all around them is done sooner than later so they can get back to their...
