One word, NASTY!
And after reading the reviews further apparently there is an ongoing issue with this property. Good to know. That way when I'm on duty and people ask me what hotels are in the area I can let them know my experience and the experience from others who have submitted their reviews.
I accept that the hotel lobby was dirty because the staff had put out salt or sand on the walkways due to the snow. But what I didn't expect, what is not acceptable, is what occurred in my room for my 2 night stay. After getting off duty that night and checking in my first night, I made it up to my room only to discover the room was freezing cold. Not as cold as outside, which was about 11 degrees that night with a wind-chill near 0 degrees, but it was cold. After finding the light switch and turning on the light I discovered the air/heat unit was unplugged from the wall. I went over and bent over to plug in the unit, hoping the unit was okay and I wasn't going to get shocked, and when I stood back up a roach was crawling across the wall. Then it fell to the floor and disappeared. Very disgusting. But after being on duty all day I just wanted shower and go to bed.
The next morning I left to head to work. I called the front desk shortly after leaving to ask if I needed to check back in when I got off duty that night or if I just simply go to my room. I was told there was no need to check back in and I could just go to my room. When I got off duty I headed to the hotel, took all bags from my car, and proceeded up to my room on the 4th floor. I was grateful I didn't need to check back in because there was a line of people checking in and many others in the lobby area. When I finally was able to get to my room, after struggling with my bags, the card key didn't work. I was upset because I was told I could just go to my room when I returned that night. So I had to go back downstairs with all my bags and wait in line to have my card key reprogrammed. Then struggled with my bags again back up to my room. But that wasn't the worst of it. When I opened the door I discovered the room had not been cleaned, no bedding replaced, no towels replaced, and the trash in the trash cans had not been emptied. Nothing was done. I was very angry. Luckily I'm a clean person and I respect other people's property so it wasn't like the room was covered in trash or filth. But as a guest in a hotel you still expect the room to be cleaned, towels replaced, and bedding to be changed upon your return. But no, that didn't happen. So I was angry and disgusted.
The next morning I reached out to La Quinta via social media, to express my disappointment with this property. I immediately heard back from La Quinta, where they apologized and further stated they would be contacting the property and I should be hearing from someone there soon. But by the next day I still hadn't heard from anyone with the property. All I wanted was a refund for my 2 nights, thinking that was fair after my negative experience at that property. So I reached out to La Quinta again via social media and they responded promptly. I was informed that they had spoken to the Assistant General Manager Krish Patel and that he placed reward points in my account due to my experience at the property. I was also provided Mr Patel's business email through La Quinta so that I could contact him directly. I replied to the La Quinta social media message and stated that no one with the property had reached out to me and that I did not have an account with Wyndham Properties or any account directly related to La Quinta.
I then reached out to Mr Patel via the email address I was provided. Explained to him my experience. Requested a refund of my 2 night stay. Explained to him I do not have a Wyndham account and if I did I was not interested in any reward points. That if I had used any reward points, if I had a Wyndham account, to reserve the room for 2 nights then his offer of reward points would had been fine and accepted.
But he has not replied to my email nor have I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām only giving three stars because the weekend staff is horrible. I stayed here all week with no problems, everyone was nice and very helpful. When Saturday came I wanted to switch rooms from the double bed room to a King Executive Suite, the young lady that was at the front desk argued me down that the King Executive Suite was the same as the King room. Iām steady telling her no it is not, the Executive is a suite not just a regular King room and the room is much higher. So she kinda got an attitude and said āwell Iāll get the head of housekeeping and she will explain to you they are the same.ā So I waited, when she came she tried to tell me the same thing so I asked for the manager. I believe his name was Chris or something like that, he came out and said they are different (she felt stupid) but then he proceeds to tell me they are all sold out. I told him on my app it shows they still have rooms available, he said āoh let me check againā then all of a sudden he find one that was on the second floor, I didnāt want one on the second floor because the rooms arenāt nice on the second floor in my opinion. So I said ok Iāll look at it, he take me to the room I look at it and itās no flat screen tv like it say on the app and it was a smashed roach on the wall, I told him and he didnāt even come over to look or say oh no Iāll find you another roomā¦he proceeds again to tell me they all sold out. He said he will go check again, so then he say āwe have one but the guy hasnāt checked out, and Iām not sure if he will be checking out today because āyou peopleā sometimes extend your stay how you are trying to do.ā Like what? The āYou Peopleā really made me feel some type of way. Anyway that was a lie because if it was like that, why did they sell out of the room I was already in (double room) when I was still in it? It was given they just didnāt want me staying there, and I say they because the girl was acting juts like him. So I said ok just give me another regular king room since yall are sold out of the double rooms and I wasnāt taking no executive room with a roach in there. He tells me again they have none available and I went on my app and they absolutely had some available smh. So I didnāt feel like going through it again so me and my family packed up and left. I spent over $600 at this place and they treated me like I was nothing. (Not the staff during the week) Iām only talking about the ones that came in Saturday morning on August 2nd. I will never ever spend another dime at this place. Then the girl she gave me the biggest smile when I told her we were checking out, that was the first and only smile...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been staying here for several years. The hotel is less than a mile from our familyās home, so itās been very convenient. However this was definitely our last time. We requested a handicap accessible room and what a joke! Their idea of one is a grab bar in the shower. ONE grab bar and thatās it! And itās right next to the faucets and shower head and is placed straight up and down! Iād like to know who stands right under the stream of water the entire time youāre in the shower! You pretty much have to step away from it to shampoo and wash, right?? It was next to impossible in that slippery tub! Yes, the shower is in a bathtub that has absolutely no traction in it! Not even those slight strips that are pretty useless! I have severe balance problems and taking a shower in it was a terrifying experience every one of the 5 mornings I had to! Then, the toilet is a standard low profile toilet surrounded by 3 walls and not one single grab bar on any of those walls. Iām 5ā10ā. I dreaded every time I had to use it and several times I had to have my husband help me get up! In spite of our being married for over 30 years, it was extremely embarrassing to have to ask for help, but because of a severely damaged knee, it was my only option. We also noticed that the toilet seat was loose the day we arrived, but unfortunately didnāt report it right away. On day 3 the mount broke off. We reported it that morning and again the next morning and it was never fixed! Did you ever play on a Slip ān Slide as a kid? Well this was like a flashback every time. Lastly, we had our dog with us so we were in a āpet friendlyā room which meant no carpet. That would have been fine except that the floor throughout the suite we were in is a faux wood tile that is extremely slick! I almost fell several times - even with my rubber soled shoes on - which only came off as I was either getting into bed or into the shower. It was a miserable stay. We were in town for a funeral, so we decided not to take the time away from family to try to find a hotel that would allow our dog. But I guarantee we wonāt be staying at this hotel ever again! And Iām filing complaints with Wyndham and the city for failure to comply with ADA...
