We came to this red lobster for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary this evening. It started out decently when we arrived at 5:30pm, but they were not aware that our party, there were 19 of us, was coming despite us calling several days ahead of time to be sure they would be able to host us. Once we were in the banquet room it took 30 mins for our waitress to come and take our drink orders, which I assume was due to us expecting more people to show up. After we got our drinks ordered, we got to order our food at 6:15pm. After we ordered our food, we did not see a waitress/waiter for about 40 minutes. Our drinks had all been empty at this point for a while, and the biscuits were all gone as well. Finally a waitress came in, but she set a tray of salads on a table and did not say a word to anyone in our party nor try to serve the salads to us, we realized they were over there 15 minutes after they had been sat down and dispersed them amongst ourselves. The whole time we had been there no one had come in to refill our drinks or bring more biscuits after we requested another round of biscuits. Our original waitress Steph came back and we had asked for refills on two of our drinks and more biscuits again and finally the biscuits were brought out and two drinks. No one else was asked about refills even after us having to ask for a refill. By the time it was around 7:15pm the manager came into the banquet room and told us that the kitchen is a little backed up and our food would be out in about 5 minutes from then as it was sitting on the hot plate area. We did not receive a single plate until about 7:50 and our whole party was not completely served until after 8pm. This is where our problems with the service truly began. We had been very patient during the 2 and a half hour wait time, but everyone was starting to become hungry and many people were planning on leaving before 8pm. My sister was planning to leave by 7:45pm and she kindly asked the waitress at 7:30pm if her food (the endless shrimp) could be put into a to go box instead of on a plate since she needed to leave and they said that it would not be a problem to do that. When the food came out, quite a few of our orders were served to us cold, and my sister’s food was on a plate instead of in a box. My sister then asked for a to go box multiple times and the waitress went to go get one and did not come back for 10 minutes. I had mentioned that they forgot a part of my order and that my fish was cold, so my sister went to go find someone to help us. When my sister came back, she explained that she had been yelled at by two of the kitchen staff and our waitress Steph. The manager then popped into the banquet room to check on how everything came out. I was honest with the manager and let her know that everything was not ok seeing as a lot of our food is cold and that my sister was yelled at by her staff. My sister then explained to the manager what happened and the manager decided to place the blame on my sister because of what she ordered. She told my sister that since she got the endless shrimp she shouldn’t even be given a to go box even though we just received the food and my sister needed to leave. I then let the manager know that my cod was cold and the manager gave me attitude and told me that she would not have chosen the cod to begin with and then offered to remake it. At this point I was uninterested in even eating the fish and just said it was fine as long as the rest of the party got everything they ordered. The manager then offered our party free shrimp and a $50 gift card for my grandparents to make up for the bad service. We appreciated the attempt to make up for the disappointing service, but we were very upset with the way we were treated. I understand being in a high stress job, but there are plenty of people that have never yelled at a customer as a first response to irritation. That was extremely...
Read moreIf I could leave a zero, I could.. let's talk about the Manager Mike and server Lada. But me and my husband and I came(we are both from the restaurant industry, husband 30 yrs GM and KM and I have 10 years)in on 6/7(our anniversary dinner)around 6-7 in the evening and sat in Lada's section. We should have left the moment walked because the hostess stand was full of employees bickering over tables and who was getting who. We sat down in Lada's section on the right side near the windows and could hear every employee conversation happening from the bar area. And then hearing someone hushing them because they had gotten too loud. That was just the start of the first 4 minutes 😳 We order calamari that was so chew and over cooked that it felt like we were chewing bubble gum. And didn't even hardly touch it after the first 3 bites. And then main courses came out....I ordered the shrimp scampi and the sauce was so broken that the butter had congeled around the rim if the dish and it tasted to much like white wine that it tasted like straight wine and butter no garlic. My husband dish(fish and chips) had been sitting in the window far to long that it was soaked in oil. During this time the restaurant barely had anyone in it but Lada never asked us if anything was wrong after the first initial food drop. We never finished our dishes at all. We left 90% of our food on the table and when we asked for our check Lada asked if we needed boxes we said no and she proceeds to say Welll yall didn't eat touch anything at all and still didn't ask if anything wrong and continued to ask if we needed boxes and still saying no just the tab. Lada was rude towards us at the very end and seemed like she was put out with us because we didn't take anything with us. This was now 45 minutes after arrival and not once did we get asked if anything was or a manager drop by. When we I left I went to the restroom, by the bathroom was filthy, but yet an empty restaurant with to many employees standing around the hostess stand along with the manager Mike not doing a dang thing. And when I told them about as we left again Mike and the rest of the staff just stood there chatting it up. Didn't feel like sharing this with Mike because I knew that it wouldn't do any good. If a DM or a GM can give me a call that...
Read moreWalk in and there is a 20-30 min wait for 1 person..No problem. So I ask about the bar. She tells me I can sit at the bar with no wait, great!….Just as I get seated at the bar a waitress comes by and tells me me there is a wait for the bar ALSO!………….. The last time I was here, they took forever with my food and drink refills and there weren’t very many customers in the restaurant, maybe 5-6 tables…I didn’t say anything or even leave a bad review. I just chalked it up to a lack of staffing. But, this is ridiculous. This is how you lose customers… Get your Stuff together!!! Last time I’m coming here.
Against my better judgment I came back. I blame my love of shrimp and my New Years plans got changed. Got seated immediately. Server was courteous and attentive. Shrimp Scampi were hot and fresh…..until my third order. I ordered a Scampi and Dragon Shrimp refill. I noticed the Dragon Shrimp wasn’t even warm… and when but into the Shrimp Scampi the piece was soggy and sour! I spit it immediately into my napkin and proceeded to scrape my tongue with napkins. I spent the next 5 minutes looking for my server who was nowhere to be found. Finally flagged down a nearby bus boy and asked him to find my server. After another 5-10 min wait my server arrived and I explained to him the situation. I asked him to please bring my check so I can pay and leave. He apologized for the inconvenience and left. I was expecting my check so I could pay and leave. But, no. I had wait another 10 mins, when I assume a manager shows up. I’m not sure if she was a manager because she didn’t introduce herself. She asked what happened and I again explained that the shrimp I bit into was sour and tasted spoiled. I suggested she check the shrimp they were using for spoilage. She asked what I wanted. I explained to her that as I explained to the server, I just wanted my check so I could pay and LEAVE. So after another 20 min wait she FINALLY brings my check. I think this time I’m really done with this...
