We went here for lunch on the strength of the reviews, and frankly, it was a spectacular disappointment.
I asked the somewhat flustered girl at the till, what the signature burger was and was reliably informed it was chicken zinger.
I also ordered a plate of chicken strips that was oddly NOT available as a combo so I paid for the drink and fries separately. Weird.
The food was prepped and the girl waved us over to collect our own food. Hence the low service score.
The place is essentially a fast food joint called Povlanos piri piri, that would indicate some form of relation to Portuguese or south Africa style chicken.. and yet... it's a Pakistani fast food joint that also happens to have piri piri chicken. Hence a confusing atmosphere.
The food itself was bland, tasteless and sloppy given the large amounts of added ketchup and mayo. The chicken strips were dried, I assum coal fired and then laced with a red sauce that purported to be piri piri.it wasn't. I paid extra for the seasoned fried but as you will see in the pics, there's barely any.
This might pander to the defiantly dormant taste buds of the unwashed masses of the region, but it did absolutely nothing for me.
Maybe i didn't give it a fair shot and order the Pakistani dishes, but one thing is for sure, the lunch menu is terrible and this is nowhere near worth the rating on Google. It's 2 star joint AT BEST - and that's coming from a reviewer who has eaten at places on all...

Read moreLet me start with the positives: My food was very fresh, and I believe it when they say their food is healthy. It has a very home cooked meal feel. The person who took my order was friendly and polite, the price was very reasonable, and the portion sizes were good. I can definitely see why people could love this place for those reasons.
That being said, I was a bit underwhelmed by my meal. I ordered 'hot' piri piri chicken strips. They weren't even remotely spicy. Which I normally don't mind, but I was underwhelmed by the flavor, in general. That could have been on me for ordering the wrong thing. However, they were also out of the coleslaw side I ordered, and their drink machine was also out of order. Not exactly a good look for a restaurant, but it happens. Since the new reviews ask about the atmosphere now, I guess I should point out that their atmosphere is simplistic and did not have much in way of ambiance. It doesn't exactly seem like a place people stay for a while.
In summary, I definitely understand why people love this place. However, there were just a bunch of little things that added up for me. While there is nothing overtly wrong/bad about this restaurant, I don't see myself coming back. Nor can I recommend it, unless you want a home cooked meal that is on the healthier side, and order to-go. Then maybe I would list it...
