I love Taco Bell food. I know it has a reputation as not being authentic and, well, it isn't, really. But Taco Bell doesn't claim that it is truly authentic. It's fast food and resembles the more authentic, lovingly prepared versions of these foods your abuela used to make.
That said, I've not had a bad food item here, as I recall. They churn out food pretty quickly and if it's a large order, they'll often ask you to pull around. That helps move the drive-thru line faster. I like that.
--Employee stuff
The employees here are pretty good. I like their greeting at the drive-thru - "How are you?" - which may seem like an odd thing, but I feel different in my interaction with them than at other restaurants. It feels more personable. They even play along with silly online order customer names. We've used Godzilla, Commander Shepard, and other fictional names. A small thing, but it contributes to my feelings about the employees. They act professional, but there's nothing wrong with being casual, in my opinion.
UPDATED TO ADD: Knowing a person who works at this location, I understand that the staff are good to work with, the manager is also a good person. This further justifies my rating, in my opinion.
--Ways to improve?
If you're ordering online, tell them at the box if you don't want ice. The app isn't good for that bit, as I recall. And while they haven't been mean, it's a good idea to say up front.
If you're ordering any boxed item, ask them at the order box to either bag it separately or at the top. That's an annoying bit that has seemed to happen a lot, here. At least to us. That's a place to improve, simply because a Mexican Pizza, half on the lid and half on the bottom, sucks more than a brand new Dyson.
--Location thoughts
This location is convenient, right off of 183 at MacArthur. I strongly recommend, however, taking the O'Connor exit if you're heading west on 183 and want to use this location. The MacArthur exit deposits you on the frontage road with barely enough time to cross three lanes of traffic, at a too-often busy location. In my opinion, taking that exit to visit this location is inviting an accident, especially at high-traffic hours.
There is access to this Taco Bell from both the frontage road and MacArthur, if you're headed north. Heading south on MacArthur there is no legal way to access this location without a u-turn further south. In my opinion, it is best to turn left on the other side of 183, go to O'Connor and take...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would! My trip today: I ordered on ap ahead of time. Got there, got food, pulled into spot to check bag (and there have SEVERAL occasions where food or wrong/missing stuff). Was missing an item and the line wrong pretty long, had to park and bang on door since dining room is closed (kept looking at me like they were not going to come over) and I did not want my food to get any colder waiting in line for a missing side. They finally came and got it for me. I got home and I had requested NO SOUR CREAM on 2 chalupas (the no sour cream thing is an ongoing issue here!) and they put it one of them. Then I asked for NO chipper sauce on a quesadilla (since my kids were eating in this) and they BOTH had the sauce! I called back and asked for a manager, when he got on the line, I started by asking his name. He laughed and just asked how he could help me. I asked him for his name 3 times before he said it was Daniel ( which I am not even sure it was at this point). I told home my issue and asked for a refund JUST on the items we could not even eat. He said when would I like to come back and he would remake it. I told him I have had to do that several times with this restaurant and it is almost 8 and I needed to feed my kids and chose to get my $ back this time! He refused and when I asked him for information about his general manager to talk to, he refused me that...
Read moreI just left this Taco Bell with one of the most horrible experiences ever. The driver lady all the way down to the manager were an absolute disgrace. We ordered food because we are in a rush the drive thru lady made us drive up because she was trying to get the wait times down...there were 4 cars waiting and she gave our food away to another car and my disabled husband went in to go see what’s going on with our order since I was driving and he hobbled in there and hobbled back and let me know that they knew what our order was but stated they need the receipt after he confronted the drive thru lady and she acknowledged what we had and still refused to give him the order so I had to jump out the in the middle of the street because there was no where to park and take them their receipt, I asked for a refund because we didn’t have time to wait. They got all mad didn’t bother to say sorry the manager was scared to make eye contact and the drive thru lady was hiding because she knew she jacked things up....they didn’t even offer to make it right or to even offer an apology. Ridiculous. Never going back to a...
