āļøāļøāļøāā Two Mules ā Texican Court | Irving, TX
This review is a bit bittersweet.
I was planning a dinner for my team of 35 people, and we were all incredibly excited to dine at Two Mules after reading glowing reviews and hearing amazing testimonials. We had high hopesāand in many ways, the night lived up to them.
Letās start with the good: ā Food ā 5 stars ā Venue ā 5 stars ā Staff (day-of) ā 5 stars
From start to finish, our dining experience was fantastic. The food was delicious, the ambiance of the venue was warm and inviting, and the servers and onsite team were attentive, kind, and professional. My team had a wonderful time, and Iām so grateful for that.
Unfortunately, the planning process was a very different story.
Our assigned coordinator, Lauren, was extremely difficult to work with. She showed up 30 minutes late to our initial planning call and, throughout the process, made me feel like my input didnāt matter. Rather than working with me to design a menu that fit my teamās preferences, I often felt pushed toward the easiestāand priciestāoptions for the venue.
Communication was inconsistent at best. Emails took days to be answered, and during the critical final week before the event, she completely stopped responding. On the day of, I couldnāt reach her to confirm billing or logistics. She left before the event even began, making us feel unwelcome and as if our event wasnāt a priority.
To top it off, we were kicked out of our reserved space 30 minutes early. Our reservation was clearly from 6:30ā8:30 PM, yet at 8:00 PM, a staff member (whom I had never met) came in and asked my entire team to leave. Even after showing her our reservation time, she insisted we vacate immediately. That was disappointing and frustrating.
While Iām glad my team enjoyed the food and atmosphere, the lack of professionalism and poor planning experience left a sour taste. Sadly, we wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent for brunch with a friend on a Saturday early afternoon. There was one person at the bar and two tables getting ready to leave when we arrived. The staff were standing at the bar talking. We were greeted when we walked up. We opted for seats at the bar as they tried to seat us right in front of the door where people were entering š¤. We asked for pineapple mimosas and were given regular mimosas with orange juice. My friend canāt drink orange juice. The bartender caught his own mistake after a few mins and corrected it. We ordered the chicken fried steak with jalapeƱo mashed potatoes and gravy. When the food came we had to grab condiments from another table because we werenāt asked or offered anything else. The food was hot when it came out. The jalapeƱo in the mashed potatoes could cover the need for a little salt but passable. The chicken fried steak was mid š¤·š½āāļø. It was tender and crunchy on the outside. Asparagus was the star on the plate. That was pretty much the end of our service. We had to keep asking for a drink or to go boxes (asked three times). There were other tables by this point so we tried to give a little grace. However, when we couldnāt get any service, we asked for the check again multiple times. The host got upset that we asked for the manager who never showed up of course. The bartender kept walking back and forth didnāt acknowledge us or the other folks who had been sitting at the bar since before the rush. Only us and another two ladies. We had our two drinks long ago at this point and half our meals (literally fanning šŖ° waiting on boxes). We finally got our boxes and checks then left. We valeted here so we walked down the street to Gloriaās and got way better service. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stayed at Texican Court for a week. I only went to this place once due to the quality of food during my whole stay. In the Texas Trio with no chili, the guac & queso was delicious. I mean like plate licking delicious. The salsa on the other hand, yuck. It tasted like it was fresh out of a can. Then I had the Poblano Chicken Enchiladas with no chicken. My husband told the waiter, no meat since we're vegetarian. No big deal. They'll even take off a bit since we're not getting chicken. When we got our food everything looked OK. The enchiladas were good apart from the tortillas & cheese tasting like they were barely cooked. The rice needed a little more flavor. I thought the beans looked questionable, so I didn't have any. My husband had a spoonful & said something is wrong. He looked in it & saw the bacon. He didn't see it at first due to the dim light. We decided to call it a night & pay for our meal. As soon as we got back to our room, my husband puked the whole meal. I went back to Two Mules to let the waiter know what happened. It seemed like a honest mistake, so I didn't try to explode. The waiter offered a mineral water with bitters to help with his stomach & a free meal if he got hungry later at night. I appreciated that, but my husband lost his appetite. Food wasn't the worst & service was good apart from the...
