While the food was good (but not excellent), most other aspects of this visit was subpar and it most certainly does not rate as a "gastropub" in my opinion.

Our server seemed disinterested and serving flat beer is a disgrace.

Our visit was on Saturday, March 12, 2022. It was late afternoon, approximately 4pm or thereabouts. The pub was nowhere near capacity. We were seated promptly.

I ordered a Stella Artois beer (there was not a large selection of beer on the menu and no particularly Irish beer)

My family ordered soft drinks. For food, I ordered off the seasonal St. Patricks' Day menu while my family ordered from the regular menu.

My beer arrived and it was completely flat, no head at all. Note that it was poured this way, so the barman should have noticed and corrected it. My server should have not served the beer without a head.

When I protested, she seemed confused and uncertain as to what to do, so I let it ride. My family does not like it when I make a fuss at a restaurant.

My starter of potato cakes was interesting and good. I shared it with my family as there were sufficient. We all liked it. It left my cutlery gooey from the cheese.

When our server came round to remove the plates, she carefully removed the dirty silverware from the plates and put them on a clean side plate, in the process dropping bits of food on the table. She then removed the plates, leaving the used silverware, but never cleaning up the mess she made on the table.

I got up from our table and took clean silverware from an adjacent table. I was not in a frame of mind to eat one dish with the caked remnants of the cheesy potato cakes on the blade of my knife.

Our main course we all agreed on was good. I had the Irish(?) shepherd's pie, while my family had a turkey club and some tacos.

I made a visit to the restrooms and observed one of the food service workers handling his mobile phone with gloved hands, meaning that he would be touching food with the same gloves that he used to work with his phone - which is not a particularly hygienic manner to work in food service. Phones are generally not sanitary.,

The sodas were refilled once, which was sufficient and then it was time for us to leave. Overall, I'd not return to this particular restaurant in an area where there are many others to choose from and I'd not recommend a...

Unfortunately waited until my second visit here and it was not any better. Came in about three weeks ago and ask for a booth. My legs don’t do high tops. I was told no way I could only do high tops. Ok. I will go somewhere else. Called gave the manager a heads up. She wanted me to come back and offered to take care of me. Not a big deal, just wanted to give her a heads up.

Today I am here for the cinco de Mayo thing going on at the plaza. Thought I would give them another chance. I went in ask for a “low top booth” as all three of them were empty to the right of the host table. Nope, instead of being given what I requested, once again, I was set in a half booth which is a high top!! I was hoping to get the new dessert and try it but my legs are cramping up as I soak and I a waiting in my heck. Since I was given a high top.

I was waiting over 15 minutes before I was even approached. Finally had th server come up, and thankfully he apologized for the wait and already had a water coming out. He was very professional and nice when he came out. It took very long to get drip refills and being checked up on food though. That does not mean it is all on him. As a server hands in was very good. The timing of service was terrible.

I went with the queso appetizer which was very thick like I enjoy. However, the absolute smallest tiny thing of queso I have ever had. And the amount of chips was negligible. Then I decided to try some chicken tenders for my dinner. After an over 30 minute wait for the chicken fingers they came out. Four of the tiniest chicken fingers I have ever seen. Then there were no French fries with them!! Huh?!? It was one bite per tender and no fries. Never have I ever been somewhere that didn’t include fries with the chicken tenders. Even if they were on the appetizer. They did taste good but I am going to have to go eat somewhere else…

Will not be going back!! $28 for two tiny things of food and was here for almost two hours to get them and the restaurant was fairly empty. Plus the seating situation where they refuse to sit you where you request is crazy, especially after the first time and I was told it would be fixed next time if I ask for a booth I would get it. Nope!! Too many other great places around here!! BTW, don’t call your guests “Boss”. Pet peace!! I am not “boss” I am a...

My husband and I were in town for an event at the Toyota Music Factory. We thought we would try something new. Looked like a cool place to have lunch. We were quickly put at a table and then the wait started. The waitress. Wish I could recall her name she had a greenish bandana on completely ignored us and started busing tables next too us. Not once looking up to catch our glance. Finally comes over and brings us plastic water cups. Nobody else had plastic around us except some kids. Ordered our drinks. Before bringing them back over she'd stop and ask if we needed anything else, almost with an attitude in her voice. We'll our drinks would be nice and could we order except she didn't wait for our response she just walked off. The place wasn't crowded actually people finishing up and leaving. It was a little after 1pm, It was like she couldn't be bothered by us. We tip for good service. Eye contact, good communication etc...the young man who brought out our food would've gotten an amazing tip had we had him for a waiter. I just couldn't understand why we felt singled out for such poor service. I really expected more from Las Colinas! I didn't expect what we received. Guess she thought it be funny to put two beers down at once in front of my husband. Ha! On you he enjoyed them. He enjoyed his hamburger and I had what thought was going to be a Ceasars salad. The dressing was sparce and the cheese was so heavy I just couldnt finish it. The description sounded amazing. Just sad the product was not. Plus the waitress put such a sour taste in our mouth I can guarantee we'll go elsewhere next time. Put a smile on your face, make eye contact , give 2 shits about your job and pay attention to your customers! We don't have to tip...

During the current pandemic it is very difficult to know what to expect at a restaurant. Will the staff be following current recommendations? Will they still be providing great customer service? Will the food still taste good? However, Thirsty Lion checked off all of these boxes and more. My friend arrived before I did and was sat at the front of the restaurant near the entrance off of Las Colinas. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the lack of people and spaced out seating. It made me feel comfortable and helped me relax to see this. Also, staff was wiping down tables and there was sanitizer available. Upon sitting down I noticed that our table had paper menus and there was no salt and pepper or sugar. Our waitress was super nice and checked on us often. I ordered their blood orange mimosa with just a splash of juice and my companion ordered their raspberry lemonade. Both were super refreshing and light! For brunch I got their Spanish chilaquilies that were simply amazing! I only got about half way through and gave up on eating anymore. My companion however woofed down his cheeseburger and cheese fries before I could even get a picture. He said that his well done burger was exquisite and said if he could have another one he would! Smh! We hung out for about 30 minutes after finishing our meal and there was no rush to get us to leave. I checked out the restroom and it was clean with a two person capacity. Just FYI the patio was open for seating with tons of space between each table. Overall we had a great experience and I definitely would come back.
