So apparently being Black and having a conversation on your phone while entering their restaurant leads to a bartender at the bar telling me I’m aggressive and won’t serve.
So let me provide some context.
I was given instructions from a friend whom is going through a family crisis with losing his father. I advised the person to let me know what they wanted to eat and we can talk about it. They choose Bar Louie.
Once I get to the Toyota Music Factory location and park my car I get a call saying where am I at.
Apparently he decided to go to another location that was in Dallas not Irving. While talking to him saying let me figure out how to validate parking cuz there was an event going on where the price was $45 in the same garage I always park at.
Thus I park in the same garage all the time. So I was like let me just get one drink or a snack or something so I can validate.
As I’m walking into the restaurant talking to the guy whom lost his father. Another call comes in with an another crisis. So I attempted to calm that person down I was talking to on the second cal.
Meanwhile a person from behind the bar approaches me at the counter and asked what I was drinking. I told him he can just pour me anything cheap since I just need to validate. He repeated anything I said yes. He walks away another person approaches me from behind the bar asking what I wanted. I’m like I just told the other person. Then the new person states I’m the bartender and he a bar back. I’m like how was I supposed to know that.
Immediately he states are you ok. I said why wouldn’t I be. He then starts stating it appears you got an attitude and are aggressive and not going to serve you. I said why not and he repeated you have an attitude and aggressive.
Now mind you I don’t know this bartender or bar back. This was also my first time to Bar Louie in this area. I’ve been to other restaurants with no issue.
So since he was adamant. I said we gotta stop playing the black male person card talking on the phone sounds aggressive or got an attitude. Since what happening on my phone has nothing to do with service he should provide. People have calls all the time happy, sad, loud, and quiet.
I know this since I was a bartender at some point in my life.
I asked for a manager after the fact and a light skin woman came and went along with her bartender to not serve but then gave me a QR code to attempt to validate. Which didn’t work. Then she states you have to park in another garage. Now mind you I always come to Toyota Music Factory area and I park in the same garage all the time when I visit Gloria’s.
Now if this was a Hispanic, White, or Indian person whom are typically loud as well really when they drink or engage in calls would this had happened.
I got turned away the way I felt since I was Black apparently aggressive and with an attitude. I’m tired of people calling black men aggressive and advising we have an attitude. This all under 10 minutes maybe of me w tearing their establishment. He shouldn’t even be allowed to call a customer potential or otherwise aggressive to their face. That makes matters worse.
It should have stopped with: Are you ok and I gave an all clear that should have been it.
The calling me aggressive and stating I got an attitude and refusing service simply because he could is wrong.
Just check the picture time stamp. I’m still trying to get more videos downloaded cuz I guess they didn’t see I had on Ray Ban Meta Glasses.
Just look at the time stamp on my phone and also look at how long I already was engaged in that call that this bartender cussed a...
Read moreDine Time: 12:31 PM Server: Victoria (bartender) Order: Jalapeno porky wings/ martini.
For starter I dine at this location frequently and in fact was at the restaurant the day before and had a wonderful experience today was a different story. I came in for my lunch break with my coworker and sat at the bar as usual. Victoria (bartender) was so cold and unpleasant within the first 10 minutes of sitting I had to call over a manager. I order my usual a "Honeydew Martini" now as previously stated I am aware these are no longer on the menu but because the ingredients are available I still order them. When I placed my drink order Victoria immediately coldly stated "That's not on the menu" I informed her that dined yesterday and the drink was made and she again coldly snapped back "We don't have that" after about 2-3 minutes of arguing with her about the ingredients being available she agreed but not before she insisted that it was going to cost more. After another 2 minutes of arguing about the price she finally obliges. I order an appetizer and she closes my tab before I could even order an entree. At this time the my coworker still has not even been allowed to order a drink and the attitude and atmosphere was so overwhelming I had to ask for a manager. The food comes out shortly after so does the manager (I did not get his name) I express my concern and he offered his apology. The food is out there is no silverware. It takes another 2 minutes for that (my food is getting cold) She brings silverware and offers me another drink ( completely ignoring my coworker) and never returns. She did not check on the quality of food. She did not apologize. She offered no since of apathy for her cold inappropriate behavior. I made eye contacts with her on numbers occasions to close out my tab and she ignored me. Being a bartender and waitress in the past I understand the value of customer service and the effects it has on ones business. The best part of my experience was the manager Tara she came over and really saved the day, she was kind and apathetic and I can tell she really cares about her job and the customers she truly great at what she does so a special thank you to her. Everybody had bad days but Victoria must have been having a terrible one keep the personal issues out of the workplace it's very uninviting, I would have like to have ordered an entree but I was so turned off by her terrible attitude and she decided to close my tab as soon as I got there a clear indicator I was not welcome. Very...
Read moreI brought my family in for lunch Saturday. We were sat immediately however it took some time for our server to come to the table. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. I ordered a beer and it took nearly twenty minutes before it was brought to the table. When our waitress finally took our order, we specified that we were ordering sliders for my grandchildren, and they wanted them plain and dry. I saw her type in the order and assumed it would be correct. When the server got to my daughter she requested a Vegan Beyond Meat burger. I said to the waitress she is vegan and can't have any dairy products. When the food came out only one of us got a meal. We waited another ten minutes before the rest of the meal came out. My grandchildren's sliders were not what we ordered, they had cheese and sauce and other items on them. We told the waitress it was wrong, and she said she would correct it. My vegan daughter's burger had cheese on it and the patty was as thin as paper. We sent that back. I and another daughter ordered salads and the dressing was wrong. I finally got up and spoke to a manager. I am myself a server and I try to be understanding but everything was wrong. We never got the sliders out and my grandson didn't get to eat as he won't eat cheese and sauces on his burger. Any of you who have kids will understand. We did get another vegan burger for my daughter and the manager comped our meal. But what really set me off was we had ordered desserts, and the waitress was obviously upset we complained but asked if we still wanted them or would we want them to go. I explained my grandson didn't eat lunch so we would like them served in the restaurant and not to go. Then she came over and was rude and brought them in a to go container. She claimed she was so busy working the patio and behind the bar she was rushed. I sat facing the bar and only saw her once when she got my beer. She also claimed she had been working on the patio. Another lie as there were no customers on the patio. I will NEVER go to any Bar Louie establishments again. We were treated poorly and lied to make an excuse for her performance. Don't...
