I tried to go to a different well known spot that was so overcrowded they wouldn’t even let me grab a drink at the bar. So I stumbled upon this wine bar - and I’m so glad I did! This is a quant and cute spot with wine, beer, cheese/meat boards, and other small dishes (like Brussel sprouts and fancy Mac n chez). There were a lot of locals hanging out here, which made it fun for this solo tourista. The two bartenders working that night were also the owners. It was VERY apparent that they truly care about their guests, some had been regulars for several years and followed them when they bought this spot (that says a lot). I got a cheeseboard and Andy recommended some cheeses I’d never heard of before that were unique and delish. Morgan, my wine glass filler upper, was personable and fun to chat with! Attentive service, knowledgeable staff, great cheeseboard and wine, clean with lovely decor. I missed out on Sunday brunch but will have to try it next time…because I will be back!! Sea Grapes is a classy yet affordable night out in Islamorada. A proper wine and cheese tasting unlike anything else you will get in the Keys. I love the keys as much as the next bum but there's only so much sand and beer a person can take. Plates are small so you can try a lot of different flavors. They have wine and beer. You can come for an afternoon snack or eat an entire meal here. It is my favorite girls night out in all of the keys! Open 5-9 pm Wednesday- Saturday. It is a cant miss. We had the most wonderful evening here! Our son who is working down here for the summer had raved about the awesome wine, food and owners Morgan and Andy. We were lucky to visit with him and the place exceeded all our expectations. We had spritz, a gorgeous zinfandel from Lodi, and the most amazing Brussels sprouts, baked brie, caprese panini and chocolate cake.What a gem this place is, Morgan and Andy made us feel right at home and honestly, it felt like being at a wine bar from back in the UK, back in the day.
