Was told the wait would be 45 minutes, so we asked if we could set at bar until table was ready hostess didn't even bother to escort us to the bar. We were not greeted by the bartender until after we were left to find a seat at the bar by the sink because a perfectly good table had her cell phone on the charger setting on the only chair the table had. My drink was hella strong so I had to ask for more orange juice to dilute it. My husband finished it because I just couldn't ick... he also had 2 beers, so 45 minutes goes by and we wait another 20 then I go ask the hostess how much longer she says it will be another minute. 5 seconds later she comes and gets us, im sure she forgot about us, so now we get seated in the corner by the kitchen, which turns out is the only reason we had ANYTHING good to say at all was that a SERVER not OURS but other servers picked up our dishes. So now we are at table in kitchen basically and our waitress greats us, ask our drink order, no water and husband gets coke i order sweat tea ok she goes a guy comes over slams down 2 cups fills with water from a really cool old milk jug. But no ice. Now our drinks.. coke was ok SWEAT TEA NOT SWEAT AT ALL. We were supposed to get bread sticks NOPE My husband appetizer was ok i guess he didn't complain about those. He ordered meat loaf, me 6oz filled mignon . His plate 26 dollars, mine 37 dollars. Now let me say at those prices you would think the food at least would be awesome NOPE My steak was clearly a frozen low grade steak ive had better Sirlion at Applebee's. My husband meatloaf was described as filled with mushrooms and ect there was no stuffing at all the potatoes his mashed tasted awful, my roasted garlic potatoes were canned diced potatoes with garlic sprinkled on then fried in deep fryer. My veggies were hard as a rock so were my husband's. I took two or three bites of each to give it all a chance for redemption no dice. My husband forced down his meat in order to not be hungry after spending 140.00 but I sent mine back and they still charged us. WE ALSO DIDNT GET SALAD OR SOUP NOTHING. I myself am very picky which is why I go with steak and potatoes on a regular CANT MESS THOSE UP RIGHT WROOOOINNNNGHGH. however my husband is not picky at all the man can eat anything loves most things and don't mind spending money on food and drinks but he was very disappointed as well. We also never write reviews but i don't want someone spending hard earned money to eat here while on vacation. We went because GUY FERRARI from Triple D had it on his show but it was terrible. If your looking for good food REALLY TRULY GOOD FOOD go to shrimp shack or Mangrove Mike's. Both...

My wife and I were impressed with the beauty of the place. The restaurant was packed but there were plenty of seats at the bar. We decided to try the " Turtle Chowder " we had heard so much about. It was great! So was the conch version. What was not so great was the bartender on duty. There was barely a hello and no smile. We immediately felt uncomfortable. We ordered our beverages and were about to ask a question about the chowders on the menu, but she cut us off and said "let me get your drinks first," with an unpleasant look on her face. I've seen that look before, its called the (I have a preconceived notion as to how much of a tip I'm going to receive from you) look! She brought our drinks and I did not bother to ask any questions about the chowders. We ordered one of each of the chowders. We enjoyed the soups. The chef was also out by the bar and we overheard his conversation about the fish served at this restaurant and it was interesting, informative and cool. My wife had asked the bartender for a straw because she did not receive one with her beverage but never recieved one. My wife finally got up and asked a server for one. Our bartender had dissapeared so we had to wait some more for our bill. She finally gave my wife the bill while I was in the restroom. There was a suggested tip on the check for four dollars. We left three. I rarely tell my wife to leave nothing, but I did, my wife left three dollars. I've never told my wife to leave nothing before and I'm usually a heavy tipper but I can't stand it when people make me feel the way that bartender made us feel. I especially felt bad for my wife, who found the reviews and made me stop at the The Green Turtle Inn just for the chowder she had read such great things about. I dont know the bartenders name, I did not want to know. Go at your own risk! If you see an unhappy looking female bartender, just turn around and go elsewhere unless you want to...

If I could give zero stars I would. Food looked good but we didn’t get a chance to eat. We left due to being completely overlooked first by the rude bar tender, seriously she needs to get another career! Then to be ignored and forgot to be seated by the hostess to be seated eventually in a corner in a back room. Once we were finally seated ignored again for service. She tended to her table of white customers and completely ignored us and we literally were the only other table in the room. If your not white don’t bother eating here you will not get service !!! We got up and left. Seriously I’m not even exaggerating. I say this because white people were being seated that came after us also without reservations when we were told by the hostess it should only be a few minutes for us. There were empty tables and we were wondering why he wouldn’t seat us at those. But the white couple that came after us without reservations was seated before us in just a few min in one of the open tables. After sitting at the bar where they received prompt service from the bar tender. When you deal with racism on a daily level those of you that don’t truly understand race issues think we make it up in our head and we don’t! If you cared and watched the world you would see the hate. 30 ++ min of our life waisted. If it wasn’t a race issue then I sure the hell would like to know what it was. Maybe we didn’t have on the right clothes to...

I was oversold this restaurant by alot. We arrived late for our reservation of 8 due to an accident on the road. We called to let them know but apparently we were one of many patrons also late so when we arrived the hostess was cold and irritable. We were seated at a nice table and our server was attentive. We ordered the lamb appetizer which was a hit at the table and also the turtle soup which was not much for flavor or imagination. The table ordered several prime ribs and the accolades from our group were great based mostly on size. The prices definitely reflect that though. I ordered hogfish piccata and honestly, it didn’t taste fresh enough, the piccata sauce was slimy and I scraped it off, the carrots and asparagus had no asparagus and the carrots were cold and hard. Mostly our group was delighted and happy with food, service and atmosphere. I felt it to be classic yet dated, overpriced for the quality but the service made up for most inequities. It was our friend’s 60th and they graciously offered cake with candles made it feel festive. I felt our bill to far exceed the quality and atmosphere but I also appreciated the classic keys experience.
