Wahoo's Seafood Bar and Grill Restaurant — Restaurant in Islamorada

We will never ever come back here again. Came for all you can eat crab legs. 7 of us..... sat us at a table and we were there for ten minutes when they notified us that they ran out of crab legs. How do you in good faith keep letting people come in for all u can eat crab legs knowing that you have none left and did not tell us. We asked for the manager (Carlos) and he came and told us that his shipment did not come in and they were out and the day shift manager screwed him. 38$ a person for Pizza, shrimp, and typical buffet items. Seriously. The hostess even said that she should have told us they were out before we sat down. Our bill was 236$. I left 175$. Told the waiter (Edwardo) who was very nice that we were not paying the full bill and left him a good tip. The manager (Carlos) came out to our car and said he already took 5$ off our meals 🤣 and he was going to call the police on is. We waited because we were not trying to run out on the bill just wanted to not pay for what we did not get. Police came one was not very nice but the other one was. Pretty sure they get called out here often because of this same problem. I told them we had been coming here for 30 years and not once have we not paid and that we paid for what we thought was right. The police actually seemed irritated and stated they always had to come out to this place from the Manager doing this. The guy from Whale Harbor Marina next door who wasn’t even at the restaurant, but probly runs the marina and the property .....maybe, came over and obviously knew the officer or whatever and said some crap then made us pay a couple bucks more. I really truly hope it was worth the measly 40$. I will chalk this up just like I did the Chart house years ago when the bus boy stole Julie’s birthday money. We will never come back and I will make sure I let everyone know what kind of business this has become. Very sad since it was a family tradition for us all these years False advertising and not treating your customers good gets you nowhere. Oh well. Can’t always be a great time in the Keys. I just saved 250$ a year from not coming to eat here again. One of us had issues before we even left the place and had to run to the bathroom and one of my kids crapped their pants on the way home. So please tell me that the quality of food was even worth it. Felt bad that the officers had to Waste their time. Next time we will go up the road and spend 9$ a lobster and cook it at the resort in our full kitchen.

We drove right by again this trip laughing at how horrible the manager was and how they falsely advertise. We were told by the locals that police are always out here because this happens all the time and customers get mad. It is not all you can eat. It is all you can pay……for what is available in the back at that time. They will take your money and then tell you that they ran out of the expensive food unless you want to fill up on non-seafood items. Would not be surprised if they had this on the menu. 😳🤡. I should add that they changed their name now. It’s called Seafood buffet Oceanfront now and the food still is awful...

Came because I have to eat gluten free. I have Celiac's. Medical diet for me. Also said they have gluten free items listed on menu. (Lulu was our servers name I believe. She was egar to serve us but not egar to help.) They sure did all 4 of them. Two types of salad... A bowl of conch soup and you could have lobster tail... They didn't even put the price in for that. The avocado salad was gross. The conch soup was actually more of a veggie soup. If there was conch in there... Or the flavor... Was beyond me. Waitress was no help. Can't recall her name but she was older. If you are going to accommodate customers that need to be gluten free... You should be able to have more choice than vegetable soup or one of two salads. OR the most expensive thing on the menu. I fail to understand why grilled fish can't be served gluten free. Or so we were told be our server. Why can't restaurants train their servers to help their customers... Considering how much I paid for the soup and salad which just those two things cost at least 34.00 give or take. And we spent a LOT more than that. Of course.. Great view. Items came out quickly. This type of thing just really upsets me because I know from experience that the server makes all the difference regards enjoying the experience.... And we tip very well every time because we know that they are counting on that money to make their families... Or their lives a little more comfortable... Put food on their tables... Pay their rent. I try very hard not to cause them problems... All I asked is that you give me something decent to eat and not make me sick at the same time. I can't help that I can't eat gluten... It is a medical diet for me. I just want to be able to go out save enjoy myself sometimes instead of having to stay home and cook for everyone all the time. So...
