This was my first time going here and my BF took me here for lunch. We both were feeling amped and ready to try a new place because we hit quite a few Mexican restaurants in the area and love to try new ones. This one was ok, I really liked the chips and salsa that they give you. One of the salsas was very spicy, but flavorful. I enjoyed that as a starter while waiting for my food. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas and it was really good. The rice was my favorite part. The mushrooms however were too big of pieces and unless you LOVE mushrooms, these are not for you. But I just picked them out and ate the rest of it. The guacamole was DIVINE, I would eat a pound of that and not think twice. The crème was also very good. The corn tortillas however were probably my least fave part of the whole dish besides the mushrooms. But I ate them all and I would go back again and try another dish. Service was good and my drink was meh. I have had better strawberry lemonades. Would have preferred to drink the lime juice they were fresh pressing at the bar, the smell from that area was nostalgic and phenomenal. Love the smell of lime. Fresh limes especially. The atmosphere was meh, we sat outside because it was a nice day and the first seat they put us in felt like a greenhouse and that we were gonna die from heat exhaustion and dehydration. So we moved outside. There were other people out there and I hate that I am attune to everything going on around me so it made the experience a little lacking to say the least because of all the boring conversations the others were having. I wish I could tune it out. My BF was keeping me busy and we enjoyed the food overall. The place is in a nice location so we took a walk after we ate. Had a nice time.

the prices on this menu are pretty high. a minimum of $20 for either a burrito or enchiladas seems excessive. i get that it's seattle, but there are much cheaper mexican restaurants around that i would recommend instead speaking of the enchiladas - i got the mushroom & spinach ones here on the positive side, these were very much loaded with both mushroom and spinach, in a 'delicious compliance' kind of way. the mushrooms were pretty soft, and both of them were cooked in a decent amount of oil - so that they tasted good unfortunately, that was the only part of the meal i enjoyed the enchiladas were sitting in a sauce that was just quite unenjoyable. i assume this was salsa verde, but it tasted nothing like good salsa verde that i've had. for the most part, it was just really sour. when your experience on taking a first bite is confusion on why i taste nothing but sourness, that's just not an enjoyable eating experience. there was also no cheese inside at all, which was even worse because now the only thing was the extremely sour sauce. I got about halfway through before I ended up just giving up and having something that someone else at the table ordered. For the price, as I mentioned this is quite expensive, and you don't get a lot either Overall, high-priced food that's not enjoyable to eat. 3.5/10

I am truly addicted to this place, LOL. I've been coming here for years, since I get my hair done every other month just down the road, and my stylist and I would go out for drinks and dinner afterwards.

My goodness, I love this place. The drinks are wonderful, the bartenders are always great and fun to chat with, and the staff is attentive without being intrusive.

Food wise, my current go-to is the chicken tinga taquitos with the jalapeno cheese dip (with chorizo, yum!) and maybe even a cheeky chicken tortilla soup, but I've at least tried a large majority of the menu. Despite Agave having several restaurants in the Seattle and Eastside area, the cooks here are just built different. Everything I've tried over the years has been fantastic, and they do quite well to make the various flavors complement one another, and any meat dish is always cooked perfectly without being dry, and never bland.

All that being said, however, I really cannot understate the masterpiece of an appetizer that is the jalapeno cheese dip. It is my kryptonite, I just can't stay away! The option to throw in some chorizo just brings it up another level. Myself and my entire friend group can agree that is our favorite starter dish there. Absolutely order one if you can!

Overall, with the combination of friendly service, great drinks and great food, Agave Issaquah deserves to be an...
