Having been a regular patron at the Flaming Grill Buffet and Grill in Manville, NJ, my expectations were understandably high as I ventured into their Houston establishment. However, my recent visit was not only a letdown, but a stark reminder of how inconsistent franchises can be across different locations.
Upon entering, I was greeted by a picturesque water fountain which added a touch of elegance to the overall ambiance. The staff, friendly and welcoming, further made a positive first impression. Lighting and the ambiance was great. Regrettably, this was where the favorable aspects of the visit ended.
As a sushi enthusiast, it was disheartening to find the sushi bar at the front closed, with the staff redirecting me to the back where the hibachi station was located. The hibachi grills were noticeably neglected, hinting at a long period of disuse. The sushi served was lackluster at best, devoid of freshness and tasted as dry as cardboard.
The food labeling was another area of concern. A number of labels were not in English, making it challenging for non-Chinese speakers to decipher what was on offer. The few labels that were in English lacked accuracy, suggesting a clear lack of attention to detail. Additionally, several food containers were only partially filled despite our lunchtime visit, raising questions about the freshness of the food.
The crab rangoon/wonton, a dish I typically relish, was a disappointment as well. The food, in general, had an air of negligence, as if it had been prepared with little to no regard for quality or taste.
The flaws witnessed during my visit were not only related to the food but also to the overall management of the establishment. The Houston branch could greatly benefit from some hands-on training from their Manville counterparts, who have evidently mastered the art of buffet-style dining.
In conclusion, my visit to the Flaming Grill Buffet and Grill in Houston was unfortunately a forgettable experience. The pleasant exterior and courteous staff were overshadowed by the subpar food quality, inadequate labeling, and questionable management practices. For now, it seems that my love for Flaming Grill Buffet and Grill remains exclusive to their Manville,...
Read moreBeen here many times, main issue I’ve encountered has been cold food. Today, my family and I waited for a very long time for a specific dish. After numerous times of telling the the gentlemen to bring out the food, it wasn’t till we told management that it became a problem. The red head guy in the front who is the manager, claimed if I have problems there why do I return? While it’s not always an every time thing, the food isn’t always bad the waitresses are amazing. The management not so much, after going back and forth with him, trying to make him understand my point of view he never really understood the problem. He then proceeded to accuse me of going there before with a “friend” and making a big deal of splitting a check. Which is falsely accusing me of something I’ve NEVER done. Every time I’ve had dinner here it’s with my husband and our children. Yet, he never apologized for accusing me of something I never did and accepting he must’ve been confusing me with someone else. That is absolutely unacceptable. At the end I was not even upset at the fact that the dish was not put out, but for being accused of something I have NEVER done. Very disrespectful and not hospitable. I’m sure he will Keep an eye out for my review after i told him I’d be posting one letting people know the way he handles things. What started with a dish not being put out ended in accusing someone of something else, he claims he’s the owner, if he is it must suck having you as a boss and I hope you’re a better person with your employees. For reference every time I’ve gone I pay over 100$ to be exact I paid 112$ which I don’t mind if food and...
Read moreI tried to ask the manager (JOE) about the food being a little cold. He tells me he’s going to go bring me food from the kitchen as a courtesy. I asked him to bring me a bbq chicken and asparagus and he tells me no problem I’ll bring it.
He proceeds to go to the buffet mix the orange chicken And bring some from the bottom of the pan. I didn’t ask for orange chicken but he brings me a plate. And then asks me to try it. Again it’s LUKE warm at best. Then just leaves. It’s like He forgot about what he said he was going to bring me And just thought i wouldn’t notice the difference.
I was very kind and polite and was still disappointed.
And then explains to me how i should grab form the bottom of pan. So it’s my fault . I told him okay and was ever upset that he thought this was a solution.
Mind you im here at 11:40
When I’m leaving he comes to me and says is there a problem? I just show him the review and he says i need to delete it because im lying and i quote “a trouble maker” .
I told him look i don’t care about all of this i just want to pay
Then he screams at me when i am trying to pay. I ask him to lower his voice and he says no and continues to shout at me. I then leave away from him and tell him don’t speak to me and let me pay. He proceeds to argue with me in front of the whole server staff And said he is going to call the cops. I demand him to make me pay and leave i finally raise my voice and make him pay me so i can leave he would not let me leave. The older lady that’s a buster was trying to calm him down but the man was too angry.
I smiled told him god bless...
