Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Jacinto City

I've ordered hot chocolate from this location TWICE and BOTH times found maggots floating in it!

The first time (Jan 2013) I actually drank it for a bit and was wondering what the texture was. Peeked inside and thought maybe there was coconut floating in it or marshmallow bits? Couldn't figure out why, didn't make sense because I didn't order anything like that. I drain it all to find a BUNCH of maggots in it!

The second time (March 2013) I peeked in the cup before drinking and sure enough there were about 8-10 maggots and some other kinda bug in it!

I brought it to their attention, but they seemed to be in DENIAL about it. Which is very problematic for me. Will not be going back.

Edit: To Maria. I assure you they were maggots. I know what maggots look like. There was no dissolving these suckers into the mix because... they were maggots, not clumps of chocolate powder. Seriously? You really think someone wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two? I used a strainer, had the water pouring down onto it and when it was all said and done, I even HELD the little suckers in my hand! I find it hard to believe that I am the ONLY person this has happened to? I'm positive there are more out there. This wasn't clumps of cocoa needing to break...

5/31/24 at 3:56. Last time I go to this location, the donuts were almost hard like days old. My kids and I walked in the place was empty the employee there didn’t ask how she could help us nor welcomed us in. She didn’t speak not one word, didn’t even ask what kind of donuts we wanted it was almost like she was dead. My kids and I smiled she just looked at us like we were stupid. I asked if they had milk she did not reply just walked over took out the milk and put it on the counter. I paid for our items and I asked if it went through cause I was confused on the machine she still said nothing didn’t even hand me the receipt just threw it on the counter and walked away. No bye, no thank you, no come again, zero nothing. If she hates her job just say that and go find another job. My kids are 8 & 6 they even asked why was the lady so rude and didn’t speak when they told her what they wanted, I told them some people are just miserable and we wouldn’t come to this location anymore. I told the woman with black hair that I wanted limited 2 pink donuts with sprinklers and limited 2 chocolate donuts with sprinkles. I even pointed out what donuts I wanted but she ended up getting me a box and getting my donuts from where all mixed donuts area and started to tell me that I needed to get 2 more to fill the 1/2 dozen donuts. I was very confused because I only needed 4 donuts. As you can see in the photo one pink donut looked horrible with no sprinkles and the donuts were not soft at all they were stale. I am surprised because yesterday I went to get that special limited valentines donuts and they were soft and tasty. I am not coming back for a while because the lady doesn't understand what I wanted.
