I have been going to this location for over a year now and what I loved about it was the fact that I didn't have to wait on the fried chicken for long extended periods of time. But I've noticed recently in the last few months that they have become very slack with the fried chicken. I usually visit this place at least twice a month if not more and I've noticed that this year I have had to wait long extended periods of time for the fried chicken to be cooked. My issue is everyone don't eat every piece of the chicken. I prefer legs and thighs and I've noticed that when I arrive there are mostly thigh pieces in the serving trays. And often times when asking a cook how long will it be before more chicken comes is usually well over 10-15 minutes Sometimes longer even when told 10-15 minutes. Oftentimes the cook seem to be irritated when asked the question. I remember a time when chicken legs were put into their own Tray by themselves and there will be plenty of them. Now they have started serving all the chicken together and usually it will only be three or four legs in each batch. BUT you're still charged the same price for the buffet. I don't eat the other meats that they serve there so the chicken is my main preference and I like to have it before I sit down to eat. For the past several months I have had to wait on chicken which has caused the rest of my food to go cold. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt so I waited to make this review for several months now. I noticed this change at the beginning of the year and now it's the middle of the year and they seem to be comfortable making customers wait for chicken. It's almost like it's done intentionally. In July me and another customer was standing at the buffet waiting for chicken and she was there before I arrived and they told her it would be 10 to 15 minutes. By the time I arrived she said that the 10 to 15 minutes had long gone and the chicken wasn't served yet. I stood there with her another 10-15 minutes and then the lady standing there notice that the server went in the oven and grab the pan of chicken and put it at the buffet. THE CHICKEN WAS SITTING IN THE OVEN THE WHOLE TIME WHILE WE STOOD THERE WAITING. đ« It was confirmed for me once I fixed my plate and bit into the chicken and it was under room temperature and not steaming hot like it usually will be coming straight out of the cooker. I was very disappointed!!! This location seems to have a lot of sides and they keep the trays full at all times but the chicken doesn't seem to be a necessity when is clear that MOST people come there to eat the chicken. You can tell that by the long line of people that's ALWAYS waiting. Other than that the food does taste nice and the and the atmosphere is usually...
Read moreOnly giving this location a 1 star review because there is no option for 0. I have never been in a restaurant and was given dirty silverware back to back. Our waitress provided us with silverware in the pack and it was dirty, not a little dirty but like someone ate off of it and food was smeared front and back on all 5 packs that was provided to us! We asked our server and she provided us with new silverware stating they were clean and they were dirty again. I went to the front by the register and asked who I believe was a manager for new silverware and explained why and he did not say a word and handed me to go plastic ware. We went to get food and another customer asked for the attention of a staff member because the plates at the clean station near the desserts has food stuck to them (whole noodles). He was ignored and so he started asking for other employees to help him they stated it was the dishwasher. The servers in the area we sat (by the bathroom) were allowing the table closest to the server station to just pile up with dirty dishes. The server also decided to vacuum the floor while we were eating in a crowded section. While I understand the floor needs to be cleaned I do not agree with getting close to us and under the table while eating.
The server provided us with a coupon for one free meal next time we came in with no solution to what they were doing for future customers. We decided to ask for a manger behind the buffet and we spoke to someone and he was very nice. We explained what happened and he provided a full refund. That is not what we were looking for but we do appreciate it. We just wanted him to be aware of what was going on.
It is sad seeing businesses like this lose what they once cared about. We will never go back to Golden Corral and I would caution all of my family and friends if they told me they were going. No company should allow this to happen. The owners, management, and employees should be disappointed in how this location has went downhill each year. If this is how they continue to operate the health department needs to shut them down...
Read moreDonât ever go after 7pm! Theyâve never been great, but after my last visit I probably wonât be back: They close at 9 and when we got there at 7:30 we paid and got our cups etc. with no one bothering to tell us that they were already starting the nightly closing process (which is odd, because the incoming guests were all very clearly an inconvenience to the cashiers, so youâd think theyâd tell people they were shutting down to get them to reconsider eating there. We certainly would have). We walked to one side of the restaurant to find a table, but all the vacant ones were dirty, so we went to the other side and found a table there. After we put all our stuff down and got our trays, a busser stopped me and told me I had to move my stuff because that entire side of the restaurant was closed for the night (no sign posted anywhere and no clean tables on the open side). The other 2 people with me were getting food and didnât realize we were moving, and after the busser told me I had to move she walked away, meaning I had to gather up everyoneâs stuff and wander around the open side with it to find a place to sit. (I ended up making 3 trips back and forth and no one ever did offer to help me or apologize for making me do it in the first place.) When I got to the buffet I quickly realized they were done putting new food out for the day and apparently had been for awhile: about half the trays were nothing but crumbs or puddles, and a lot of what was out had a film on the top like itâd been sitting there awhile without getting stirred. (I kid you not, when I stirred the ladle in the Caesar dressing before I picked it up, it made an audible noise due to the âfilmâ on top being crinkled up.) All in all I ended up paying like $15 for 2 small plates of soggy onion rings and some cold mashed potatoes, only 1 drink refill because we couldnât track down our waitress, and an evening of stomach sickness. Not a great dining experience and definitely not worth risking another...
