I was extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. While the front desk employee was one of the best I've ever witnessed, the rest of the experience was anything but comfortable and relaxing and I am requesting a full refund.
While the hotel looks to have been updated fairly recently with pretty décor, we discovered within 30 minutes of arriving that the hotel has a severe mold problem, which poses serious health implications, and is not something that can be overlooked despite nice décor or friendly employees.
I have not yet posted reviews of our stay online as I am waiting to see how seriously your company handles this issue. This will also allow me to determine my next steps as far as reporting the hazardous conditions to the Hamilton County Health Dept.
We paid over $221 for our stay, even after applying my husband’s veteran’s discount, which is far too much for a hotel that, rather than a comfortable stay, provided a night of anxiety over our health and no sleep. You see, my husband is a combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan who, upon his honorable discharge, was deemed 50% disabled - we are absolutely not willing to risk any further health implications. Upon entering the room we were originally assigned, we found it to be very humid. Shortly after, we found the air conditioning unit to be very heavily covered in thick white, blue, gray, and black globs of mold. I am bewildered how the cleaning staff could have missed this. I alerted the very kind employee at the front desk, brought her to the room where she too was in shock and immediately agree it was a problem. We were offered another room (despite a full house...which makes me believe another poor soul slept in this toxic room that night), but found other cleanliness issues there as well.
Furthermore, I have come across other reviews from guests who have also reported mold issues during their stays at your hotel. This indicates a recurring problem that needs immediate attention. Depending upon how promptly I receive a response and how serious this matter is taken will determine whether I submit the report to them that I have already begun to fill out. I hate to complain, but this is a serious health issue and not just a minor inconvenience during a stay. A google search will show there are current lawsuits against hotels for very similar problems.
I am requesting a full refund due to the unacceptable conditions we encountered. I look forward to your prompt...
Read moreThis was not a pleasant stay. The staff was rude and extremely unaccommodating. We were in town for a baseball tournament, as were many other families. This hotel came recommended due to its proximity to the fields. Many of the families were part of the “stay and play” requirement, meaning teams had to stay at an official tournament-approved hotel in order to participate.
The tournament we were attending is large, using 32 fields and hosting multiple events throughout the year. If your hotel is going to participate in these types of group block bookings, the staff should be prepared to accommodate families with children between the ages of 8 and 18.
Unfortunately, the night manager was particularly difficult. At 9 p.m., he asked parents to leave the outdoor seating area and also said we couldn’t sit in the lobby. He even attempted to police what guests were drinking. One parent, who works third shift and was actually drinking coffee from a hotel-provided cup with a lid, was told: “I know you’re not drinking coffee in there. You shouldn’t be down here with that.” This kind of behavior is completely inappropriate and unnecessary.
The breakfast area was poorly maintained and far from inviting. Additionally, one of the two elevators was out of service during our stay from June 12 to June 14. Another family mentioned it was already down when they arrived on June 11. While unexpected maintenance can happen, elevator repairs—especially by a company like Schindler—are usually handled promptly, even after hours.
Upon check-in, we were only given one key card per room and were told the hotel was “running low” on cards, which is unacceptable for any hotel expecting group bookings.
We had an additional night booked for June 14–15 but chose to cancel due to the issues we experienced.
Finally, the hotel’s website falsely advertises amenities like a casino, golf course, mini golf, and a movie theater—none of which exist on the property.
We will be attending more tournaments at these fields, but we will absolutely not be staying at this...
Read moreOkay so the room and the hotel itself was nice clean spacious you know comfortable beds nice clean bathroom that was all great pool was great but one thing that I did not like and did not appreciate was at 12:30 in the morning the fire alarm starts going off it was in a drill or or whatnot and it ended up not being a fire thankfully but the alarm starts to go off and it's going off for about 45 minutes myself my husband my step daughter and grandchild we all got woke up now my son's 8 months old my granddaughters three and they were terrified we go out to the front desk to find out if there's a fire if we need to get out there's nobody up front except a bunch of other guests that were staying and when we finally did see a worker all they told us was that the fire departments on their way they can't turn the alarm off until they get there we got no explanation as to what happened what was going on why the alarm went off you know I think I feel that in some way we should have been compensated because once the alarms were shut off and we were allowed to go back to our room my granddaughter and my son both were terrified to go back to sleep, no I don't know I may just be you know blowing things out of proportion or overreacting but I thought that was really s* of them as a company to not even offer a later checkout or you know compensate people for one more night or something because they called my child and grandchild so much anxiety that when we went back to the room they cried and fought going back to sleep because they were scared. And again like I said other than that like I said it was clean and the room was...
