My sister and I went to Salon Loft 10 in grove city to see Holly the "Ace of Blondes!". My sister had told Holly she had extremely long and thick hair when she first made the appointment and that she had a vivid red professional color done currently and wanted to go back blonde. Once we go there Holly 1.) Was dressed super unprofessionally A tank top with ripped jeans and winter boots are impressive 2.) She combed through her hair, saying " WOW you have a lot of hair, its so crazy long and thick." then she proceeded to tell my sister she could get her to blonde that night, we both didn't think it was possible but she was a professional so we didn't question much aside from the process. Holly applied a color remover to my sisters hair once, she then washed it and didn't condition it saying that she would not waste product. Holly comb through my sister hair again and said " Its not lightened enough yet for bleach and I only have enough color remover for one half. I'll apply it then borrow some from another girl. " we both asked her to just wait and she assured us it was fine. She then removed color from ONE half of my sisters hair. As she does this she realizes no one else is there. She then couldn't get anyone to come in and help her get more, her "Boss/manager/loft owner" wouldn't respond. She told us the only option was dye it red or brown again or make another appointment which she only was willing to work with one day of week and wanted my sister to leave school for. My sister was in tears, her hair was two different un-appealing orange colors. We booked the next appointment, my sister really wanted blonde hair and we wanted to give her another chance. Holly then re washes my sisters hair not conditioning it. As were discussing what happened Holly then blames us saying its our fault my sister had long thick hair and that if she wouldn't of the problem wouldn't of occurred. She then made my sister pay 150 dollars saying it was only right since she had done work to her hair. She in reality just botched it. We paid anyway not wanting to argue but we left upset.
The next appointment: Holly again starts off by removing color, washing/not conditioning and repeating that 2 more times. At that point she does two test strips of bleach, she says there's no way you're going to be blonde in the next year you'll need to repeat this every months for the next year with me. We were so confused she had promised my sister she could be blonde and keep the integrity of her hair. We wanted to trust her but we should've known it was to good to be true. She also told her untill she would be blonde her hair would have to stay orange. My sister cried. Our only option then was to dye it brown or dye it back red. We didn't have the time to come back every month for hours or the money to spend 300 per service. My sister settled for a natural red color and Holly applied the color. She again shampooed but didn't condtion. My sister asked for Holly to trim her bangs short, she ran scissor over them and said it was done. It was another 150 dollars or my sister to leave with Red fried hair with the same length bangs. Overall my sister paid Holly 300 to just fry her hair and leave it red. She didn't offer us a discount, an apology. She just blamed my sister for her lack of skill and knowledge as a hairdresser. We will NEVER go to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI first want to start out saying, I realize that hair salons in Ohio JUST opened on the 15th of May. I tried other places in my area, and nothing was open OR they had huge waits. So, I was able to schedule an appointment with Charon at 1:45 PM. Given the situation in the world today with COVID-19, their policy is to contact the hair dresser when you arrive and they will let you know when to come into the loft number. Her particular number is 10. When I arrived at the establishment, I contacted Charon to let her know that I had arrived. When I didnāt hear anything back, I tried contacting her again. After waiting around 30 minutes PAST my appointment time, I decided to dawn my face mask and go in to maybe see if she may have not received my messages. It turned out she was with another client. So, I went back to my car and waited a little bit longer...approximately 15 minutes. I then witnessed her walking TO the Giant Eagle gas station from Salon Lofts, and then walking back with snacks and her phone. She was checking her phone, so I know it worked. I then attempted to contact her AGAIN, and still...no answer. At this point it had been around an hour past my original appointment time of 1:45 PM. I then decided to again, put my mask on and go back in to talk to her. She was then with a completely different client. I then made the decision to leave.
This is one of the most disrespectful, unprofessional things that has happened to me when I am the customer.
I want to preface this that this does not by any means shine a bad light on Salon Lofts! But I do hope Charon either learns from this, and/or prevents this from ever happening again to anyone else. Until that happens, I would say DO NOT schedule any appointment with her.
Also, I would like to say I finally received a text back from her at 7:44 PM on the 15th of May that said, āHey Daniel are you straight?ā Not sure what she means by that. If you are asking about my sexual orientation...that is entirely inappropriate! If you are asking if I got squared away with a haircut...the answer is most definitely no! Your number has now been blocked...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst experience ever. About a month ago I had a morning appointment with Amber Harris. She called me and didnāt even introduce herself just simply said hey Iām going to be running 10 mins late. Which I was fine with because it allowed me to go grab a cup of Joe @ Starbucks being that the one across from them is temp close. I showed her a picture of the blending blonde look and medium bob haircut I was seeking. She went to get someone else advice on how to go about doing my hair color.,..big red flag! They discussed using 7 & 8 on my hair and what not. Before she started I asked her did she want to cut my hair first to save her product being that my hair was long. She reacted āOh yeahā then went over and chopped my hair off leaving it looking like a broom. My reaction got her attention because never have I gotten my hair cut like that and she said oh donāt worry Iām not done Iāll fix it. Yet my haircut was not fix nor nothing like I asked or showed her. She told me that to get my hair all blonde as in the picture Iāll have to do it by sessions. After that she put about 10 foils in my hairā¦majority of them in the front and a couple in the upper back. I paid $180 for 1/2 of my hair to be blonde on top of my tipā¦$210. When I got home I was told that she didnāt do my back and that I had only gotten portion/just the front doneā¦I hadnāt realized that till then. My hair was orange and blond. So I called her and she proceeded to tell me with an attitude that she could fix it on Sunday but that Iāll have to pay $100 more. Never again will I go to her or advice one to. I feel like the whole by session was a scam for me to come out of pocket each time. $180 for half of my hair to be blonde...
