Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Jackson

I have now tried 6 varieties of chicken salad at Chicken Salad Chick and have enjoyed the unique flavor of each. The loyalty programs are very generous; you get a survey to fill out which gets you a dollar off your next meal; and a loyalty points based system where you can accumulate merchandise or dollars off future purchases. Service is superior to fast food; they bring the food to your table and clean the tables afterwards. All of the soups I have tried have been great. Chicken Salad Chick is superior quality to other fast food options, has generous portions, all for the same price as most fast food joints. I do have 2 suggestions however: 1) you have your choice of bread if you want your chicken salad on a sandwich. The toasted bread option is lightly toasted on one side but not the other, and is a bit soft. I would prefer crunchier toast, toasted on both sides. And then 2) I know there is a tip jar behind the counter (because I asked). The servers I have dealt with have all been awesome, and as I stated, they do bring you your food and clean up after you. I'm on the fence between 3 and 4 on this one. Maybe they were having a bad day? My wife loved this place the last time she was here so I thought I'd try it with her. Order the Sassy Scotty on toasted white bread with potato soup. She had the Kickin Kay salad. I was disappointed with the lack of flavor. Couldn't taste the bacon or the cheddar and it just seemed very neutral. the same with the Kickin Kay. Very not spicy at all. Maybe it's just Tennessee where everything out here tastes bland to me.

My big complaint was the "toasted" bread. The bread was not toasted recently. It was cold and soft. Like it was toasted yesterday, or last week and then put in the cooler. Toasted bread is usually toasted as you need it making it crunchy and warm. That would have gone a LONG way toward making the sandwich better. The soup was good. Not great, but better than most I've had. Could have used more chunks of potato in it.

I’ve been a fan of chicken salad chick ever since I discovered them a few years ago. I come to Jackson one week a year to visit a friend, and we try to visit every day and try a different flavor of chicken salad every day, seeing if we change our minds about which is our favorite. I tend to like spice, so go for the Jalapeño sandwich usually, but this time I tried the new Chicken Salad Melt sandwich. I just went with the basic flavor, to try the original since it had been a while. It was pretty good. I got the broccoli salad as my side, and it was delicious as always. It’s definitely my favorite side. I also like they have diet lemonade as a choice at the soda fountain, as I don’t always want calories and caffeine. The staff is friendly and the food comes out quick. And I really like you get a pickle and a little cookie with every meal. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend if you like...
