The local store was great. The store manager was excellent in selling me the bed. No pressure tactics and knew the product well. The mattress seemed promising. Once you place the order, the store doesn't do anything else. Everything is handled by corporate. Delivery issues? Gotta call corporate.
Yes, this review is long. But cancelling my order was the best thing I did considering the store doesn't handle delivery. That representatives aren't empowered to expedite parts and redelivery. That any issues basically need escalation to managers to get resolutions. But my takeaway is this... What are the time frames if your Sleep Number needs repair? New air pump? New computer module that controls the pump? New air chambers? How long are you gonna have to sleep on your sofa if your mattress is unsleepable? Do you want to call a corporate number for everything or do you want to work face to face or with the local store instead? My story is below...
My Sleep Number bed was delivered 17 days after I ordered it. The delivery crew walked into my home and looked at my bed and said NOPE! I would need extended legs to clear the side rails. And they told me they normally carry them on the truck but they were out. I inquired about this in store. I was told it was doable and can accomodate beds high off the floor. The delivery crew said they would let corporate know and they would mail them to me directly and reschedule delivery. They came from MEMPHIS. The local store doesn't do delivery.
5 minutes went by and corporate called me. The rep quoted a delivery date of another 18 days from now. I said absolutely not. I asked to speak with a manager. I was firm about having delivery this week. The manager stated she got off work in an hour and wouldn't have time to escalate the issue but would pass it on to a coworker.
Corporate gave a window of about 10 days later for delivery after having to ask to speak with a manager. Still unacceptable. They comped their $200 delivery fee and threw in the $50 leg extenders for free. I asked for sooner delivery. I asked about delivery after 4pm. They said more than likely NO. I was told maybe I could take a day off. ALREADY DID THAT.
Calling the local store, the store manager told me he looked through the notes of the account. He said he would look to see what corporate would do first and then look to see what he could do. After reviewing the notes, he reiterated that everyone was doing what they could. And he agreed it was disappointing they didn't readily stock materials for known delivery issues.

So me being curious I was looking into a sleep number as they was having a veteran's day sell. Since my husband is ex military I thought it was worth a look into it. Once I did the quiz it suggested an I8 360 smart bed priced at 6500. So I decided that was to much so went about my day. A rep from the Jackson store called me and told me it he could get me a bed at my price frame that it didn't have to be 6500 bed. So I told him we could come in next week. He convinced me we had to be there November 6th or November 7th to get the deal. So my husband took off work to go to our scheduled appointment at 2 pm November 6th. We walked in we filled out no paperwork. We explained we was interested in a king half split. So he went straight for the one the quiz suggested. He verified my husband veteran status. He ran both our credits when we only wanted it to be in his name. Well we was only approved for 5500. So instead of going over different options. He just went down to a queen size. Also put on the sales a mattress protector, 2 pillows, and sheets. Never once informed us these was extra. Wouldn't take no for an answer. So we got hit up for 5500 dollars for a bed we wasn't even interested in and bedding we didn't want. So...

Friday nite 10/23 I remove current mattress and springs in anticipation of delivery. Saturday 10/24 at 10 am I get a text saying they are on their way. I come home, and at at noon see no one. Call to find out where they are and am told they have lost the bed and wont be able to deliver . One months leadtime and they cant make a delivery . My current bed has been taken down so now have no bed to sleep in. So I call the store, and the customer service numbers..no one can help and everyone acts like they couldnt care less. Beware...
