I have frequented this bar for about a year now and have always loved it until last night. My friend’s wallet was stolen before we went out and subsequently his ID was gone. We both use LA wallet as it is a valid ID with all the rights of a piece of plastic. The front bouncer would not accept it and when I spoke up to inform him that it could be scanned and is legitimate. He stood up from his seat and began pushing me out the door with his body. I am a 22 year old petite female for context. I simply put my ID down on his stand and he took it and threw it outside, he proceeded to physically push me through the door. My friend behind me was hit in her eye by his shoulder and I have never felt more unsafe. He used the ABC board as the defense of LA wallet not being allowed when you can clearly find that it is an accepted form. We were let in two weeks ago with LA wallet when my friend told him she’s a bartender and is well aware of the ABC statement. He said “just don’t...
Read moreI was home for the holidays and decided to visit this venue with my childhood friends but the bouncer at the door wasn’t letting anybody in and kept telling us to form a line but continuing to not let anybody in or explaining the rules. He then let a group of white people into the bar and continue to deny other people of color from entering the bar. This went off for about 30 minutes and we ultimately decided to leave. I can’t believe I didn’t get to spend time with my childhood friends during the holiday simply because a racist bouncer wouldn’t let us into the bar. We were dressed very nicely And button-down shirts and dress pants with a dress shoes on and he continue to just tell us no and to form a line without allowing us to enter the bar and it completely ruined our night in our experience. The establishment needs to fire the bouncer that was working tonight if they hope to have a successful future I cannot believe somebody would treat another human...
Read moreIt's literally just "ok". There is not a darn thing wrong with the place if you just want a beer and some pulled pork sammies or fried pickles. But if you want an actual cocktail this is not the place to go. They can't make a martini. Martini is a pretty basic drink, it's not asking a lot. Their "Mississippi Mule" is just a Moscow Mule with a different glass. If you happen to be somewhat classy and like good service the bartenders will make you aggravated. Tipping well does not give them the hint to maybe pay attention to you and not let you sit there with an empty bottle or glass. But that's not the sort of thing most people will mind and it's not like they are jerks they just aren't all that attentive. The waitresses are a little better if you sit away from the bar. They seem to understand they work for tips and make a great effort to make you feel welcomed...
