Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet — Restaurant in Jackson

First of all, the low score has nothing to do with the food. The food on the buffet is delicious and the buffet is well worth the price! This review is about a couple of members of the waiting staff and the strange behavior I've endured the past two times I've been to the restaurant. Tonight, me and my girlfriend came to the restaurant. We had a waitress who seemed nice at first. We ordered our drinks and we went to the buffet. We came back to the table and our drinks were there. Everything seemed kosher... until it came time for our drinks to be refilled and to pay for our food. It took us 15 minutes for our drinks to get refilled and we even saw our waitress sitting down at a table looking at her phone. We waved another waiter down to get refills but he was too preoccupied with his phone as well. Finally, our waitress saw us waving her down and she was thinking that we were ready to pay when really we wanted refills. She refilled our drinks and then we were ready to pay. She brought the check over and she became very "rushy" with us. She wanted us to pay for the food while we were at the table, which is odd considering that everyone usually pays at the front counter when they bring their check up there. The waitress even gave me a weird stare when my girlfriend offered to pay and then looked at my girlfriend and said "No! He pay!" She took my debit card and took it to the front desk. When she brought my receipt, I signed it and handed it back to her. She looked over the receipt with a disgusted look because I left the "TIP" part blank and then walked away. I left it blank because I was going to leave cash as a tip. As we were leaving, the waitress in a very frustrated tone began asking my girlfriend why I didn't leave a tip on the receipt even though she already picked up the tip I left her off the table. And that's when I had all I could stand and I went off on the waitress and the some of the waiting staff and stormed out the door. They did this very thing the last time I came here and quite frankly, this is the LAST TIME I will ever come back to this restaurant. It's a shame because the food is absolutely delicious. I leave tips at every restaurant I go to without any issue of doing so. But I will not tolerate any member of waiting staff in a restaurant forcing and rushing me to pay them tips even after I've paid...

Let me be completely honest about this place. When it first opened it was fantastic, the food the service, everything. After a year has passed now it has downsized, the nice restaurant it used to be looks shabby now that they've taken everything nice out of the restaurant. Not only has decorations changed but unfortunately their food has too. It's left out too long, things aren't prepared like you know they should be and how they used to be. The food is a lot cooler, hardly any ice-cream stocked and the food seems brittle and dry. This broke my heart because once a place does this, you better know you're gonna get a crappy meal. Dont' be fooled by the pics, it doesn't look anything like how it used too and the food has went out the window too. Broke my heart with their piss poor transformation. Same prices for a more terrible experience eating unchewable food.... sorry but no thanks! Also someone below said something about their sushi not being fresh anymore, well they aren't lying, it's very true. The sushi bar used to be one reason I would come, not anymore..sorry...

There are more Buffets than you can count. We were a party of 3 and I think we hit at least 8 of them. All the food was hot and fresh. I really loved the Hibachi station. You can pick all of your ingredients . I choose beef, chicken, jalapenos, onions, mushrooms and fried rice. Piled it all up on a plate and handed it to the chef and he asked me what sauce. I chose Mongolian, and Hot Garlic sauces. I loved every bite. I also loved the Chicken Sweet and Sour the chicken was very tender and the sauce was hot and sweet.

Our server was a very nice guy and attentive. He checked on us many times

The restaurant was clean neat and looked inviting. We were greeted right away by the cashier and seated very quickly.

My only critique on the negative side, is that a restaurant that puts as much quality into their food does not have Fresh Hot Oriental Mustard. They gave me two packets of the nasty stuff. This will keep me from returning as that is one of my must haves.

For those that do not have my love of that hot mustard you will love...
