I've been to a couple other Burlington's that were very nice stores, one in Knoxville and one in Atlanta. The Jackson, TN location is so very disappointing. I went for the first time to that location last night to shop for a coat and will not ever go back. It was a complete waste of time. The selections were slim, the store was messy though there were few customers and the entire store smelled of weed the whole time I was in there. I couldn't tell if the weed smell was coming from customers or the employees. The multiple cashiers at the front checkout were horsing around, bent over laughing, loud, cutting up, chit-chatting... not waiting on customers. When my family and I were called up to check out, we stood at the# register we had been called up to and waited so long for the cashiers to calm down, stop playing around and someone actually come over to ring us up that I was ready to drop our 3 items in the floor right there and walk out. We never said anything, never batted an eye, stood waiting patiently. It was ridiculous how unprofessional the employees acted. I'm all for enjoying your job but when you are ignoring customers and having fun at the expense of customer service I think it goes a little too far. When an associate finally came over to us she was unfriendly. All that laughing and cutting up beforehand but then wouldn't smile or speak during the transaction. I thanked her when she gave me my receipt, she still didn't speak. Never smiled. We gladly left. This store needs to do better. I don't see how they'll stay in business, they certainly won't be getting mine again. I'm already telling my friends about my negative experience and not to bother...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this store today. I am so disappointed in the service we received from the cashiers. They were very UNPROFESSIONAL, is an UNDERSTATEMENT!! If you're going to work as a cashier waiting on the public at least have the common courtesy of acting or being professional!! The cashier that waited on me was doing everything but waiting on me as I stood waiting directly in front of her!! The cashier beside her was standing at the register attempting to service customer as she sipped on her drink!! I have never seen or experienced such rudeness!! My cashier was so busy being rude, she didn't even have the common courtesy to speak, say thank you or anything else!! When she finished my transaction she laid my receipt on the counter and walked off. I feel because she made the mistake of saying my card didn't go through instead of looking at her register and seeing that it did. It was because I corrected her and she already having a STANK attitude only made it worst! My suggestion to you, either do your job professionally or go home! No one should have to deal with this type of behavior especially when our transactions are helping to pay your SALARY!! I came into to do a return. I can tell lady had a nasty attitude by the way she told me to go to cash register 2.
As I was looking for my receipt in my bag because there were two receipts in my bag. I gave her the correct receipt. She throws the bag away. I said “oh I need that bag for my other items” She said, “You should have said something to me before I threw it away.” My heart is beating fast why I am typing this!
I said you did not give me enough time to say anything. I said do not have to take this s! Because my brother had a heart and kidney transplant and I am very emotional. She throw the hanger down. And said I do not give a d about my your brother. Ot she might have said I don’t care about your brother with her nasty gutter attitude!
She kept arguing with me while the other lady was handling my return. I said where is your manager? She said that she is manager. What?!!! You argue back with your customers over a bag! Yes and kept arguing with me.
