Jackson Donuts — Restaurant in Jackson

I’ve been to Jackson Donuts a handful of times and I’ve always had a good experience until recently. This is why I am keeping my review at 3 Star instead of 2. The donuts are very good quality; my personal favorite is the Boston Cream! The couple that owns the shop are nice people and they get the order to you pretty quickly. However, a few weeks ago I went through the drive thru and placed my usual order. I got home and opened my breakfast burrito to put salsa in it I and there was a long black hair in it. Ok, that was gross and I gave some of it to my dog. Then my dad started drinking his frozen Java Chip coffee and he pulls out pieces of plastic from his mouth. He thought it was a fluke and kept drinking and more small pieces of plastic kept coming from the straw. I called the shop, the lady answered, and I told her what happened and she said she would remake it for us. We go through the drive thru and I gave her back the coffee so she could see the pieces of plastic in the cup, and she basically threw the food at us and didn’t say anything. No apology, just here’s the food, and we left. Overall, how the situation was handled and how many mistakes were made in one order made me question the sanitation for all of the other orders I placed in that past. The donuts are amazingly fresh and soft.Nothing like those hard dry Dunken ones.Honestly some of the best donuts I have ever had.My only suggestion would be possibly some new flavors or flavors of the month like KK..maybe for example a strawberry shortcake with stuff on top and jelly filled or Key lime pie with a key lime filling and maybe a green lime frosting or a banana pudding donut.Just some ideas.That would for sure bring in more business but the old standbys are yummy.The blueberry cake donut is so good.They have nice and friendly service and offer a small breakfast menu too with the breakfast sandwich being large and filling and worth the price for how large it is.I would suggest with their breakfast burrito (which is good) they offer more toppings like maybe potatoes and grilled peppers and opinions.Maybe chicken.I would love to see them expand on food choices just a bit since I like them so much.The great thing is they open so early.I think the drive thru opens first but its really early like around 5am or so (check and see).That works for many of us that want a snack when we have been up...

Was passing through and thought they may have a good cup of coffee. Far from it. Smells like it was brewed with toilet paper after. Nauseous from the smell wafting off the coffee.

Not sure what ingredients make blueberry filling but the consistency and flavor were off. The chocolate covered doughnut was nauseating. Expected more from a place with 4.8 stars. Maybe I chose all the wrong things but a cup of Folgers or a quick keurig coffee would have been 1000000000000 times better. Poured out the coffee and threw the donuts away. The texture of the actual donut minus the filling was actually good. Would probably have a better rating with a plain glazed donut. Need to put more effort into toppings...
