Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Jackson

we just finished dinner at this restaurant. we had the two to dine. this included 2pc fish, and 2 sides for $10, a good price to be sure. first they don't have any diet style soft drinks. they only have unsweetened tea. Our meals arrived quickly, I had onion rings, and cold slaw. My wife had cold slaw, and french fries. the basic problem we had with the whole meal was it was very greasy. we use a napkin to hold the fish as we dunked it in the sauce, and almost immediately the napkin was comply filled with grease. our hands were completely covered in grease. the grease was not dripping off the food, but if you touched anything except the cold slaw, your fingers were coated with grease. I realize when food is deep fried; however if the oil is too cold, it creates greasy food, if the grease is at the proper temp. the amount of absorbed grease will be minimized. We will not be visiting LJS...

I went here after work so it was around 7:30 ish. The line was moving well although it was long. I didn't mind waiting because I don't frequent there often and I really had a taste for Long John's. I ordered the number 12 which is 2 piece fish, 3 pieces of chicken and 2 sides ( green beans, corn). My veggies were hot. My chicken was okay but not hot. My fish was over cooked and coooooold. It was hard and you couldn't taste the fish for the hardness. I couldn't eat it. I ate my veggies and 2 pieces of my chicken after I warmed it up. I threw the rest in the garbage. I could have taken it back I guess but I didn't want to take the time to do that after working a 12 hour shift and having to get ready for the next day. It will be a while b4 I go back. I didn't enjoy my food at all and I feel like it was a waste...

The last time I tried this location, it was terrible. However, I must give credit where it is due. They have definitely stepped up their game at this spot. I ordered the same meal I always get, 2 fish & 3 chicken meal. Granted, I had not heard about them switching to waffle fries, which was the only thing that didn't fit. The fish and chicken were perfectly cooked and delicious. The hushpuppies were some of the largest I've ever seen and also cooked to perfection. I didn't care for the waffle fries as this has never been the waffle frie spot. I'm guessing they changed them at some point and time. Although better than the previous fries that never held up long in a hot box. They just did not go with the meal. I'll know to order some different...
