Mulligan's — Restaurant in Jackson

Regret I suggested to eat at this restaurant today. Lesson is, if you have an issue with something at this establishment be prepared to be wrong and like it lol. Ultimately service was indifferent and unfriendly. Ordered our food and once received it had fries instead of chips I ordered, no big deal but apparently it offended the server and staff. I mentioned that I ordered with chips and the server removes my plate. I asked why and he said he “has to take it back to redo the entire entree.” I suggested maybe I could eat around the fries, again no big deal, and he shuts that down saying he must take it back while acting completely put off. Not agreeing with how he handled it and him being rude I told him not to worry with it, I’ll go without the food as well requested the check. Not that it should matter but I’m not being rude or loud just simply saying I don’t want it any longer. Shortly after, he zooms by the table placing a folded receipt on the table without saying anything. I look at the receipt and was charged for the meal I declined to have redone. Trying to get the attention of the server without success I get up and ask him why I’m being charged which he states he’s not the manager while walking away. Going back to my table I thought surely this is a mistake. Shortly after someone tries to bring the food to me and insinuated I wasn’t doing what he thought I should do. Bewildered he said that I repeated my refusal and absolutely didn’t want to eat here. At this point I really just wanted to leave even if they wanted me to pay for it. Waiting to pay someone, another person walks up asking how he could fix this. While trying to explain I quickly realize he just wants me to take the food. I hear a few excuses and no apology along with him saying he has 15 years of customer service experience with no real option but to take the food. I explain that I didn’t want to argue I would accept the food to go. Paid my bill and promptly threw the food away after leaving. One thing I do feel was exceptional was the one star reviews they earned on several sites. Congratulations on providing a poor customer experience and ensuring that the less than stellar service by the waiter is reflective of this establishment. I can't give a review other than when I called at 11pm on Saturday night, they stated their kitchen closes at 11pm. and wouldn't be able to make any food. I asked about their hours and the person couldn't give me a set time when they close - just according to business. So keep that in mind if you're going there later at night on the weekend - they might close at 11, might close at 12, who knows? Google currently has their hours listed until 1am, which isn't the case obviously. (Leaving a middle of the road 3 star in order to post this information)

Edited several months later: i came in and ordered the appetizer combo. I'll break down each item; *Mozzarella sticks - they were hard and the cheese was cold, no stretch no warmth to it at all. It's as if they cook them an hour or two before, and just let them sit there. *Onion rings - he's had a good crunch, but they were cold as well. *Nachos - it was about a couple dozen chips with a scoop of canned chili on top and a squirt of cheese. Not the nachos I was looking for. *Chicken "strips" - quotes used as they weren't your typical chicken strips. It was a flatten patty that they cut up in strips. Very thin, very little chicken actually inside. Tough and no seasoning. Marinara and honey mustard came with it, the honey mustard was thinned out and almost flavorless. As far as everything else, the service was fine and the atmosphere was okay, though they had the AC on and it was about ten degrees too cold in there. That appetizer combo costs twenty four dollars. About double what it should.

This was our first time to visit and we were a large group coming for a special occasion. At the start I was disappointed because the place was not ready for our party and when they put tables together they didn't get enough table space or chairs even though we told them the number both of people in advance and upon arrival. We ended up at 3 round tables touching to make a long table of sorts. The staff was friendly and service pretty good although there was a bit of a delay between the initial food delivery (to about half of us) and to the balance of the table. As far as I can tell, everyone else liked their food but I will note some exceptions. Due to the special occasion, I ordered a glass of sparkling wine for everyone at the table. The pour was generous but, honestly, it was very cheap and sweet and after getting it I wished I had not ordered it. My wife and aunt also ordered glasses of Pinot Grigio and they were pretty bland . So I guess I would not recommend getting wine here. Also, 3 of us ordered pizza and it was a mystery. The crust was floppy - not at all crispy - and the browning color looked like the crust had been made in advance or was from a package (like Boboli) and had only been warmed up. I would not order pizza again. My daughter said her burger was good so, as I said above, I believe most other food items were good.
