Dinner was just okay, service could have been better. Our server was Patricia and she didn’t seem like she had a good attitude. Before ordering I inquired about the chicken sandwich to see if it was pulled or sliced she said that it was a chicken breast. Since I was looking for something pulled or sliced I ordered the turkey sandwich with 2 sides. She wrote down our order but then didn’t read the order back to us to verify so instead of the turkey sandwich I received the chicken. When she handed me plate I politely said “oh no I’m sorry, I ordered the turkey sandwich.” Patricia’s response was, “you asked about the chicken sandwich.” Thankfully my party spoke up and verified I indeed say turkey, because I know I can miss speak sometimes or may think i ordered something when in fact I didn’t. She didn’t apologize but instead just stood there. To make the situation better I just said “it’s fine I will eat it.” I am the type of person to not send back food if I TRULY do not have too. So I was just a little off put when she didn’t really try to make the situation better. She could have just said “oh gosh, I’m sorry let me take back for you.” This all could have been avoided had she just read the order back to us and we would have caught it. After I said I will take it she eventually said “sorry about that” and then just walked away. The chicken was dry and had to put a lot of the bbq sauce on it and I was trying to avoid that. The other serves all seemed be in a good mood and just was walking around. We asked for 3 separate checks and even that seemed like an inconvenience. I overheard one of her fellow severs ask for her help and she just said “I can’t, I’m busy.” She just put us in an...
Read moreSaw a post on here saying it's "The best barbeque in Mandarin" further evidence this city has no clue what good food is. This place is a disgrace of a BBQ joint. The portions are a joke and the quality is decent at best. I am enjoying reading these reviews from obvious clowns though.
EDIT: A response to the business. Yes, I'm sure your chain restaurant "knows" every customer personally. I could care less if you're brothers you own a franchise with corporate standards you still need to maintain. Which is to currently rip off your customers. Do us all a favor and start making real barbecue instead of the disgrace you try to pass off as barbecue. You guys making any sort of income from this trash should be reported as a crime. Sure, I have harshly reviewed places but I have multiple 5 star reviews on my account and I give them to places that deserve them (Which is rare in this city because people apparently like being ripped off here). Your BBQ joint has legitimately some of the smallest portions I have ever seen for a BBQ place. There are many places that are on another planet compared to you in this country. So much so that you are not even worth mentioning in the same sentence and they have proper BBQ portions. That's without even mentioning your quality of food. These people giving you 5 stars are straight up liars or have never had good BBQ in their lives. My reviews are honest. And your food is...
Read moreAt 6:15 pm on Saturday, I was at drive through, attempted to order 2 white meat chicken dinners. Michael, the one taking my order said I could not order 2. When asked is it because they only have one chicken breast, he said “no, don’t want to run out of white mean and have a bunch of dark meat left over and it will go bad from not selling it”. I thought it was a joke, o asked to talk to a manager; he just left and wouldn’t talk to me. I called the location, San Jose blvd, while sitting at the drive through, Michael answered the phone, I asked if he was freeing the manager, or going to help me as I am still at the drive through, he said if I want the manager I have to come inside. After being insistent he got the manager. It was a female, I believe Sue, when I asked to order 2 white meat chicken meals she instantly said I could not. She said if she sells them to me then someone else would not get one. I left to never return and to discourage anyone from going to this Bono’s so they don’t run out of food.
I then called Bono’s on beach Blvd, the original where I have eaten over the last 50 years, ordered 2 large white meat chicken dinners, without question or harassment, picked them up and paid full price plus an exceptional tip!!!
I highly recommend to stay away from Bono’s on San Jose Blvd as Michael and “sue” are rude and have no care for...
